http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nort...r-and-lee-cattermole-arrested-72703-29964017/ Oh lord. Your club captain and star striker both arrested for trashing cars near SJP? Man, all is not well over at SAFC if there's that much anger amongst the playing staff.
...I dont expect them to be playing under Oniel any time soon http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nort...-and-lee-cattermole-arrested-72703-29964017/? NICKLAS Bendtner and Lee Cattermole were quizzed by police in connection with a car-wrecking spree on Newcastle. Police launched a probe after a spate of cars were attacked on Stowell Street just streets away from Newcastleâs St Jamesâ Park. Several cars are believed to have been damaged during the attack, which occurred at around 10pm on Tuesday, December 6. And the Sunderland footballers, both 23, were arrested yesterday as officers questioned them over the attacks, before being bailed. They were quizzed on suspicion of causing criminal damage. Today a spokesman from Northumbria Police said: âPolice can confirm that on Thursday, December 15, two men aged 23 were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. âIf follows an investigation in to damage caused to cars on Stowell Street in Newcastle city centre, which happened at about 10pm on Tuesday, December 6.â The alleged damage â which is believed to have targeted at least three cars â happened just days after Sunderland lost 2-1 to Wolves at the Molineux Stadium. It is believed that officers are scouring CCTV and are still trying to establish how many cars were damaged in the attack. Danish striker Bendtner tweaked a groin injury during the clash, which ruled him out of Martin OâNeillâs first game at the Stadium of Light. Midfielder Cattermole also missed their 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers due to a suspension after picking up five yellow cards this season. Today, when approached by the Chronicle, a spokesman from Sunderland AFC refused to comment on the pairâs arrest. Danish international Bendtner signed for Sunderland from Arsenal in a deadline day loan deal earlier this year. He has struggled to find form, scoring just two goals since his arrival on Wearside.
Well innocent until proven guilty but if this is proven then I guess you have to wonder at their behaviour.
Well if it is true, and I dont have any reason to think its not, I would semd Bendtner packing, strip Cattermole of the captaincy and probably look at moving him on. I know its always unwise to jump to conclusions but FFS do we need this, like a hole in the head.
I know Cattermole was banned from Yarm while he was at Boro for his anti social drinking antics and was one of the reasons they moved him on to Wigan... if this is true then they need to be disciplined like everyone else!
Btw this is the Chronicle... Im sure this is a newspaper company based in newcastle... May get some biased + lazy journalism ? 2 people may of been arrested doesnt mean its them Im praying bendtner wasnt one anyway
this the skunk press are corrupt just like the police up there ill check the sunderland echo for this storey
Well it quite clearly states that it WAS them that were arrested & that the club have declined to comment on it.
As an aside to this report, whatever happened to the alleged drink driving by Cattermole in Glasgow. Can anyone update me.
This seems bizzare to me. The article does seem a little miss leading, lets see what the other press says, I might check Caulkin out on twitter he is usually on the money and not bias. If true its something we certainly don't need.
Really hope this isn't true, but have a bad feeling about this, Catts has a bit of a history with this sort of stuff and I wouldn't put it past bendtner who seems like a prick.
