    Apparently Jander and Downes travelled, Saints thought at least one would be okay to play, but it was a late call that neither are well enough, and not enough time for Matsuki to then travel. Bragg a late call up to cover as he was already in Leicester with the U21s. From Alfie House.

    Seems a bit amateur (so normal for us) not to bring a few extra given the illness in the camp.

    Azaz should be in the team. Three CBs definitely shouldn’t be.

    I've not been saying drop a central midfielder. I've been calling for an AM backed by 2 behind him with one less CB..

    I don't think anyone wanted to drop a DM - discussions seem to have all been about less defenders on the pitch.

    It would be an excellent turn of events for Oyekunle to grab the winner.

    Been caught our a few times this season, not travelling with spares. Particularly with illness already in the camp. Screams amateur planning.

    But even if one of Downes or Jander had recovered to start, we'd have still been going in without a senior CM on the bench. So as RSS says, it does seem pretty amateur of us not take either Matsuki or Aribo.

    Maybe you could argue that Azaz might have been on the bench as cover instead, but that would have answered my question about whether Still intended to start him or not.

    It is beginning to look more and more like that. In which case we're back to the point I was making towards the end of the transfer window, where I was saying that we needed to recruit one more CM. It feels like every season we're leaving ourselves short on numbers there.
