There was some talk of administration. But it was shaky enough for long enough when the chancers were involved.
Nail on the head but how to stop it thats the question, the powers that be seem not to have the answer, or even the inclination.
Betting/Gambling sponsorship is IMHO a stain on our club As this thread is about the Owls running out of money. Us and many clubs use Gambling sponsorship as a way of keeping afloat
Sensible move I guess. Relegation looked nailed on anyway, this might keep them in business for now...
I remember them as a bairn when they were in their pomp, Des Walker, Benito Carbone, Wim Jonk, David Hirst, Di Canio, Pressman etc I have a feeling they'll be alright, it's a club with big potential and you imagine with some basic competence a new owner can steer it back to a safe but boring mid-table Championship team.
It's not just the playing side though...the stadium is well past its sell by date so whoever comes in need very deep pockets. It's a sad situation all round and a damming indication of those in charge of the EFL.
Chansiri still won't sell though, another club gone because of a shoddy owner we weren't far off this under SD & Co, and if some had their wish and it was Storey that brought us, it could be so glad for KLD,
If in admin that means it's easier for an interested buyer to come in without Chansiri demanding ridiculous amounts? Up to the administrators to decide on selling now surely?
Administrator's job is to realise any assets to pay off the debts. If they can find someone to buy the club for an amount which pays off the creditors and sets the club on a stable footing for the immediate future,that would be the preferred outcome. Chansiri's lost control of it now.
Anyone else think there was absolutely no reason for one of the administrators partners to mention this in the statement? It has absolutely nothing to do with the fans boycott, and all to do with inept ownership and management of a football club. "While the recent fan boycott has not directly caused the insolvency, it has increased financial pressure on the club. As a result, the owner has chosen to place the club into administration.
Better than being wound up, but the club and the ground are separate companies so Chansiri may still have some control in the process. Got to feel for the people who bought ten year season tickets, could be made meaningless.
