Bought some Sierra Nevada Pale from Sainsbury's on the weekend and I agree it's banging. The can I posted was a freebie from the pub.
Marnin Survived the trampoline session and four 12 year old kids, taking them there, then to the park and then out for food and getting them all home etc. I have K Pop Demon hunters tunes rattling around in my head from them all singing on the way home. Cracked the windscreen on the van and the way back though, so having a new one fitted this morning. Dad life 2025
The obvious joke in there was about how the singing cracked the windscreen and I'm disappointed you didn't crack it. (see what I did there)
I always tell people to sit at the back of the aircraft as I’ve never heard of one reversing into a mountain! edit…I just seen that Gezza has stolen my reversing comment!!!
I remember one plane incident that when the emergency chutes went down, some people were stopping and collecting their luggage from the overhead storage. There was a fire at the back of the plane and it delayed people getting off, don't know if any died as a result. I tried to google what incident that was but apparently this is a common reccuring issue in emergencies, creating blocked aisles and endangering lives.
boarded a plane at Manchester to Turkey, two flights within 15 mins of each other to same airport. a group of 20 people got on my flight, that were due on the other. How the feck does that happen. 1 1/2 hour delay as they checked plane for ‘left luggage’ what’s the point of boarding card scans? TUI are rubbish.
I can't think what would be in the overhead locker that is that important. Cash, cards, phone, passport would be on me. Even if your medication was that important, it could be replaced.
I just it's some people's go to, to grab their stuff and not think about either their or other people's safety. I was on a TAP flight back from Faro once when the Portuguese captain came on the tannoy and said 'Errr we have problem' and then didn't follow it up with anything. The seatbelts light came on and about 30 seconds later the plane did a massive turn and started descending rapidly. At that point people were trying to get out of their seats and get to the overhead lockers. It turned out that somebody on the plane had had a heart attack and he was turning to land in Lisbon, but needed to dump the fuel first, so dropped to a few thousand feet over the sea to dump. It was only a few minutes later that he explained what was happening. But in the intervening period plenty of folk's first thought was 'I'm getting my luggage'
This is true. There's also a psychological phenomena where some people downplay the crisis and don't act at all. I think they are two ends of the same spectrum of panic/freezing. I'm a little bit the other way, planning for how I'd escape a crisis incident. Not to the point where I'm OCD about it, but I think years of managing teams and buildings full of people and having to write risk assessments and policies on this stuff has kind of hard wired me. I used to have a cactus outside my front window in my garden, it grew so much and it had a massive point on the top of it, so that in the end I had to give it away as it was blocking my escape route from my bedroom upstairs in case of a fire, so maybe I am a bit OCD after all lol
^^^^ I didn't have a written risk assessment for the Cactus so either I don't have OCD or this is where I went wrong ?
You wouldn't like it in my house then, my bedroom windows have child proof safety catches, as well as the normal window locks. The window lock key is on a magnetic hook on the radiator in front of it. The child safety catches though have to be dealt with manually, you would just freak lol. I had to deal with an electrical fire once, stayed as cool as a cucumber, which shocked the person I was with at the time, surprised by my calmness in the situation. Then thought, yeah suppose so, had never really thought about it, like losing your head just makes a bad situation worse. My first thought on a plane would be where are any kids or babies, to make sure they didn't get left behind or trampled in the panic. Knowing where the exits are does help, but problem is people's strength in a panic situation would be immense, so it's all down to fate really, like seat 11A found out.
Yeah I wouldn't like that lol. Your house sounds like a fire trap to me. I have sash windows here and they are open most of the time anyway, because I like the fresh air. I don't like being in those hotels where the window only opens a crack either. It's not like I freak out about these things, but I just plan ahead for how I'd overcome barriers to my escape if needed.
