Why is it that any thread involving Chelsea and Spurs on any miniscule level turns into a pathetic slagging match? This thread actually had a valid premise, but has now turned into a bunch of stupid ****ing bitching.

Well, time to get it back on track then. Torres will not be off in January, especially with The Sun reporting Drogba and Lampard are off in January...........<laugh>

  7. I, too, believe that Torres will remain with you for the full season. Whether or not he remains with you for next season will depend, I suspect on how AVB intends to set you up. If he is going to persist with the way you have played for the past several seasons, I cannot see the point in persevering with Torres, since it must surely be obvious that he isn't going to fit it, and your best bet would be to sell him for as much as you can get in order to make space for a striker who does suit your system. If AVB is determined to keep Torres and changes your system in order to build the team around him, then I think Torres will come good again as there is no doubting he is a world class striker. However, changing your system may involve your having to lose other players and get in a whole load more, so it's not necessarily the easiest of the two options. Even with the money that your owner will lose on Torres' re-sale price, it may end up being cheaper for him than changing your system.

The system and style is already changing, the crux is Drogba and whether he stays or not.

  9. I can see the merit in what you say.

Drogba has been a great servant for your club. I remember when you first signed him and quite a few Chelsea fans were on his case from day-one. I couldn't never understand the criticism, as he looked like a top class player, right out of the blocks, and I think he helped to paper over quite a few cracks in your squad, at that time.
