Disagree, we need an old school manager who it explicitly clear on what people roles are. We would not be so gutless with a Dyche or Allardyce. He would have defenders defenders etc. Not sure Will at this stage has the correct presence to exude that authority
I honestly can’t remember a tactical change he’s made that’s ended positive. I’m not WS out as SR have ****ed up with managers to date, there’s not really any point changing but I really can’t see him being a success. SR stated, promotion was the goal this season. Yes still early days but I’ve not seen anything to suggest he’ll get this right. Mid table obscurity imo.
What worries me is we could have anyone in that dugout. But these players will just make the same mistakes again and again. Ps no need to apologise. I reacted in the heat of the moment. All good
Was it 90 minutes? Yet again we were very good in parts, and could have scored about four within the first 55 minutes. But we were awful after they scored their second. And it's a recurring theme, tailing off long before the FT whistle.
Didn’t expect a win, even after going 0-1. Didn’t expect 3 City goals, all coming from Saints assists. Yet again we have a good 15 minutes, then go to pieces. Unfortunately I ordered my Blackburn on Friday, so will see another defeat in person. Even Sheff Utd are playing better than Saints.
So I admire your positivity. I have moaned tonight albeit more in jest. But I never thought we’d win the league, I thought Still was a poor choice. I recall seeing him on MNF and thought I’d hope Leicester or similar picked him up.
Blackburn Rovers is surely now a must win for Still? No way the even the happiest of clappers could gloss over losing to Blackburn?
The issue with changing is not really about when but who? The right who would be able to make an impact quickly but who's available / willing / good enough? I can't think of anyone that would be able to take what we have in terms of squad now and work with it that fits.
How did Ralph do back in Germany? He may be very refreshed. Not saying I want him but was thinking who is available. Carrick was someone I’d have preferred over Still.
I'm not sure Robinson is the best example. He's competing with Scienza, who's been our best player in the last couple of games, and Armstrong, who's scored 4 in his last 6 games. Having said that, while I don't necessarily think Still is a bad manager, I'm not convinced he's the right guy for this job. I just don't know whether he's got what it takes to improve the obvious mental weakness of our squad.
Can't even be arsed to hang around for the meltdown. Hats off to anybody who traveled to watch that. Gonna be a long journey home chaps, I reckon the club owe you one. A Little Chef voucher maybe, if they still exist, or something else suitably disappointing.
That was ****ing terrible. On the bus back to the park & ride now. **** Sport Republic for what they've done to our club. ****ing ****s. I can't even bring myself to blame the players or the managers anymore. Sport Republic are the root cause of this ****e, and until they're gone, nothings going to improve.
It is the obvious issue. I am struggling to put together a list of reasonable names. Carrick is available. Robbins I think could be tempted to leave Stoke, despite their current high placing. A wider list of names would have been available four months ago, and equally more names might be available in another two months time.
What a load of ****e that was. Purple patch FC strike again. Play well for a 20 minute period and be either bang average or pathetic the rest of the game. Lots of people saying they thought we'd improved the defence at least. Maybe it's just cos we were playing Derby and Swansea... Away support was horrific too. Like really really bad. Even before the game was over tbh but after it was over just plain embarrassing. **** off Saints.
I actually meant the previous game. So I guess 135 minutes of good football but a disappointing outcome both times.
Saints fans at 3-1 down singing about Shane Long and Jose Fonte? I wanna quit this f*cking fan base. Utter morons.
For the next fred poster, Saturday 25th October 2025 Football League Championship Blackburn Rovers FC v Southampton FC Referee:- Robert: Madley, Assistant Referee: Darren Williams, Assistant Referee:- Daniel: Leach, Fourth Official:- John Busby,
What I struggle to understand is why Azaz and Fellows aren’t starting, or even coming on with enough time to make a difference. They can’t have suddenly gone from outstanding players to bit part players. The coaching seems to be no better than under RM, and the results are disappointing to say the least.
