The proper tests at this level start here. Ipswich are underperforming so far this season, and the natives at Portman Road are restless. 12th in the table, and with identical form to us over the last 5 matches. (3 W, 1 D, 1L). The last time we visited Portman Road was not a happy experience, the 4-0 trouncing under Johnnie Jackson. The clown Sandgaard sacked him the week after. I hope we freshen up the forward line tomorrow night with another long away trip to come on Saturday. Bringing on the non game changing “game changers” after an hour in every game has become a bit predictable. It would be great to escape this one with a draw. As @Dick Plumb1 is attending, I understand Seriously Boring has given his special permission to post about it.
Would like to think we could get something. But Ipswich will likely be a lot more clinical than Sheffield Wednesday - and we gave Wednesday too many openings. I fear a defeat, 3-1 or 2-1 maybe.
Nope, I don’t do the midweek games any more unless it’s a stadium I haven’t seen us at. I first saw us at Portman Road in the 86/87 Play Offs, which were then over two legs. A thin net separated us from the angry hordes of Ipswich fans that night …I remember plenty of 50p pieces flying our way.
