Simple. Because the keeper blocked his shot and it was then nowhere near going in .. until their defender kindly directed it into the back of the net.
As someone else said, a lucky boy. On another day, it doesn't fall into the defenders path and we're all saying, ffs he should have finished that, and we maybe don't go on and win and the mood around him is quite different. It was a well timed run, but a poor 'finish'. He works hard, and maybe deserves a bit of luck for that, but he just isn't technically very good. It's to be hoped McBurnie doesn't get injured coz neither Joseph nor Destan are anywhere near good enough to cover for him imo..

Spot on there. Joseph is added to the pantheon of players who work hard and therefore our fanbase think is great.

His touch is atrocious and he almost always takes one or two too many.

The lad would take two touches to take a penalty.

he’s useful and has grown on me a bit but is lacking a lot of technical ability at this level.

he’ll be really good when he gets fully fit again and loses the few pounds he put on during the injury , the other week he was so slow! But looked quicker yesterday

Has he though? Saturday was the first game I've seen in a few in the flesh and his touch hadn't improved by my eye.

I'm desperate for him to improve mind, think he's a great lad.

I just don't think he has the striker's instinct to be a success as an attacking Championship player.

His link up play has massively improved. Hes also still playing out of position. Bristol City his cameo off the bench he looked every bit a championship striker. Hopefully he learns in training from McBurnie so that when he fills in he carries on like he has done
