He has paid untold sums into the country via his taxes, so he certainly has the right to criticise this place if he wishes to do so. As for moving to the Middle East, no thanks.
I never said he didn't have the right to criticise. But I reserve the right to ignore his opinion - and that of anyone else who takes money from one of those Middle East States. Pots, kettles, black etc.
I was on the train back to Bromley South after work one day, commuter train so all seats taken. Everybody as far as the eye could see was on the blower. I use the phone a lot when by myself but I do not use it to the detriment of conversation and interaction.
Do you do much groundhopping in Brazil? Or is it a bit ropey travelling to backwater clubs? I'm at the real Essex derby on Tuesday. Yep, Canvey v Benfleet in the Essex Senior. Should be good...
I'll post where I have been on the Elfs in Brazil thread. Is that a league game or a cup match? Is Canvey where there is the caravan park next to the ground?
No, that's Concord Rangers. All the caravans have been replaced with rather plush site homes (caravans without wheels) for the over 50s and at 300k a pop. The gasworks still kick up an awful pen & ink. It's a cup game. Canvey (managed by Peter Taylor) are currently two leagues above Benfleet. However, Canvey have lost eight of their opening ten, whereas Benfleet have made a great start, meaning the two could meet in a league fixture next season.
I always got mixed up with Concord and Canvey. I ticked Concord as a league game, Canvey I did with Charlton in a pre-season friendly in the 90's, it was a reserve fixture.
@The Penguin what is the word about Jimmy Thelin in the granite city. He left the might Elfsborg last summer to go there, it's all gone to s*** for him after the first 15 games last season.
Allow me to step in & cover for our Scottish friend. Aberdeen fans have been calling for his dismissal for weeks. They were the lowest scorers with the fewest points in Europe at one stage, but his Cup win last season has bought him more time. The Jambos are 5 points clear in the SPL Celtic are at war with their fans, and Rangers can’t buy a new manager. Scottish football
No, it’s budget. Celtic’s turnover is 60% greater than the rest of the SPL combined, bar Rangers. It’s ridiculous. You cannot have a competitive league in such conditions.
Is it not the case that (like in the English WSL) the attendances at Celtic / Rangers and a couple of other Clubs are many times higher than even the smaller SPL Clubs, never mind the lower Scottish Leagues. Celtic & Rangers distort the entire league structure in Scotland - which I believe has an entire population equal to about half of London. The Old Firm should be playing in English leagues.
