Some players come good for sure as they mature. I’m definitely one that wants him to succeed given his price tag but it may become a weight upon his shoulders. Just hope they’re broad enough to carry it.
I do like Matty Godden a lot, but even when fit he'd struggle to score in our current set-up. We are not creating chances for Kelman to latch on to in the box. The same issue will arise when Godden is back, unless Jones changes the formation to suit the poacher. I like tradional wingers who fizz balls into the danger zone, which is where the likes of Godden and Kelman would do the business. It's a simple game really.
We'll still be struggling to score goals and pray that the defence is not doing an impression of Morecambe.
They don’t but the pressure builds, both from home fans who eventually start groaning and away fans with the usual what a waste of money chants. It can knock already fragile confidence. He might just need a few goals to get him going. Remember Karlan Grant couldn’t buy a goal at one time and ended up doing very well for himself. Hopefully Kelman does similar except with us .
I’d say immediately on the bench and straight into the action at the end of the first 3 or 4 games. Then starting and taken off after the hour for the next 3 or 4 before becoming the main man.
He'll start on the bench. Knee problems can be a footballer's nightmare, so what happens next is anyone's guess.
It’s a simple game indeed. We need to take another look at Apter and give him another chance to do the fizzing.
Which is great, for him and us. It is clear that Little Ivor does not rate him so if he can score a few goals then hopefully we can get shot of him at the end of the season.
That sounds right to me. I wonder if TC will find form when Godden returns? At the moment I’m happy to keep the forwards as they are inc TC. The next 5 games are tricky but not impossible. Two wins and a draw will do for me
I agree with your prognostication. Seven points, possibly eight, would do nicely, starting with a point on Tuesday.
