Odd half...We have looked largely comfortable but without being fluent in any measure.

Bentancur with a goal but he's otherwise been dreadful. Tel and Odobert are a real let down and the ref is appalling.
    Palinha excellent again :emoticon-0148-yes:

The front third isn't clicking at all still. Too much inexperience across the board imo.

Good strike by Rogers but I think Vicario gets his angles wrong.

It's been an intriguing contest. They have the beating of us physically, but we have them for pace.

    Tel is a tough one

When we don't have the ball he acts like the sort of CF our system needs, as his movement's good and he presses like a madman

When we do have the ball, however, he suddenly turns into a winger playing at CF

I thought the ref was decent.

I like the fight that we show. Villa are set up to be disrupters so it's not easy to play

They certainly have that physical advantage upfront but we've held our own over the park generally. McGinn gets away with a lot of off the ball stuff and HTF didn't get booked for the foul on Porro just enables him to carry on.

Vicario definitely out of position, but not sure he would have saved it anyway.

Great start by Spurs came firing out of the traps then we’ve just got poorer as the half went on . Villa came back in to the game slowly and a fantastic goal by Roger’s although I thought Vicario’s positioning was poor.

Wanted Bergvall to start instead of Bentancur ( although delighted he got his goal ) but we just lack progression in the deep midfield positions.
As others have said Odebert and Tel have been poor, bad decision making and too lightweight getting muscled off the ball too easily.

This is a must win game, our home form is poor to say the least.

Need Richy or Muani on at CF and Bergvall in the 8.

vicario has made a couple of howlers this season but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one! We have defended pretty well but you can’t do much about that goal. It was unlucky by Xavi but then the skill and strike from Rogers was quality.
This is a real 50/50 game, I probably wouldn’t be too unhappy with a draw right now if that was on offer.

I think if Villa get confident and open up we will have a better chance.

Could certainly do with Bergvall and Sarrs level of forward-thinking competitivenes. And either Muani or Richarlison to give us some physicality up front.

Know what you mean, but they are a decent team and I rather they don't get confident!! <laugh>

I’d be gutted if we don’t win this mate. We’ve got to start winning our home games if we have any chance of getting top 4/5 this season.

    No changes…

If there’s one criticism of Frank’s early tenure so far it’s the lack of being proactive. A blind man can see the ST and LW are offering nothing… so change it. Feels like we’re just waiting for Villa to take the lead before we’ll do anything.

Maybe it’s the scars from last season that I still have! We would 100% go on to lose this game! I do agree, we have such a hard run of games coming up 3 points would be lovely.

We've lost 10 of our last 17 home games.

It's an appalling record that we need to start fixing asap.

    Pigeon Boy on for Tel.

The latter struggled to make an impact, again.
