Are 10 league games enough to show he is a duffer.

Of course we want to win, but 2 losses in 10 is a damn good improvement on last year.

At a much lower standard it has to be said.

I think only 2 wins in 10 is more important than only 2 losses in 10.

Agree, but does that make Still a duffer already?

I've not said he is, just don't think we should focus on how many times we don't lose this season.

I've always said 10 games after the transfer window closed for him to get his best starting XI.
We've played 7 since then but we don't appear to be quite there yet but are not losing games at the very least.
I'm hoping he gets a blend of the new signings pretty soon and everyone knows my views on 3 CBs by now!...<laugh>

Martin was out of experimental September and starting the 25 match unbeaten run this time 2 years ago (only 21 to go!)

I think 10 league games since the window shut is a fairer metric than lumping in results from martin, rusk, juric etc.

That reads (ignoring liverpool as it's the cup and we were never going to win it despite a decent performance):

6 games, 1 win, 4 draws, 1 loss - so 7/18 points. Not great, not dreadful.

four more games to get to that 10 since the window mark:

    Bristol (A)
    Blackburn (A)
    Preston (H)
    QPR(A)

I think we need 2 more wins and a draw out of those to be able to say that something has shifted in the right direction again. Issue still remains we don't seem to know where the back of the net is

I agree, but it is to bring some balance to the narrative that we are nailed on relegation favourites and are the worst team ever to wear the red and white stripes. Also to balance that things haven't started for us yet, but they are not as bad as some are making out.

I'm not expecting miracles this year at all. I'd be happy with a few wins and a few exciting games. To be fair not had that yet, but I can see the seeds of it sown.

I am happy to stay in this league for a year and will not lose my **** (not saying you are) over our current form.

Today, if one had gone in we would have won 3 or 4 nil probably. We created so much, but were wasteful. We had Armstrong and Archer on the pitch, both proven at this level.

We will click IMO, but need to do it soon I agree.

No ones not blaming SR though. Getting on the backs of new players, and a new manager 10 games into a league season achieves absolutely nothing. If we wanted to yo-yo between divisions for a while, lets go for Dyche.

Agree with basically all of that. The question is I guess that how long do we keep extending that 'soon'.

I think it's bigger for Still himself than us that we properly get going sooner rather than later, as any mid table side can make a late surge for play offs, but a failure to win any of the next two will bring huge pressure to him.

A poster earlier said give Still "10 games after the window closed", which I think is after the next 4 league games.

On a positive note, isn’t it lovely to have a player that gets you off your seat a bit in Scienza. That nutmeg was sexual.

Yeah I think that's pretty reasonable. I think I said a while back that early November is a good time to judge and the 4th game you mention is the 1st.

Probably the end of that 3 game week actually as think it's international break after Wednesday on 8th November.

I said on here the other day that the next international break - which is five games away - would be a reasonable point to judge him.

Tuesday night is easily the most difficult of those five. The other four don't look tough on paper.

But history disagrees.when did we last win a game comfortably. We don't do it because we are not good enough

To me it is no real surprise after last season and shall we say a managerial appointment that at the moment looks mediocre at best. This look like a mid table season. Let's just hope we can find a playing identity and build some momentum to end the season with

Any other day of the week Jander's goes in off the post and if Armstrong could get a bit of zip on his there would have been a rebound, or a deflection etc and the narrative shifts again.
