Agree. But I think there is a player in there. His confidence just looks shot. Maybe he's struggling with the tactics & training, when he is more used to just hitting on the break, the way Forest played last season.
I don't need to prove you wrong, it's up there a few posts ago. You said Elanga was the biggest waste of money ever, I posted a list of far worse transfers. You then said they didn't cost £55m though, which completely ignores inflation, the £12m we paid for Luque at the time was big and would have been considerably more than the £55m paid for Elanga given inflation in player prices. Why am I even telling you this? It's obvious.
That shouldn’t be happening when you have spent 55m. You should have the finished product. Meanwhile Welbeck scored two goals and he’s an old aged pensioner.
For that price I would expect to see more ability than just running in a straight line... Howes got his work cut out to make him into a player..you're right imo.
What I love about this board is that during the game me, Chaos and Roland can chat as much ****e as we like cos as soon as its FT GG goes into a meltdown and gets all the negative attention
He's been a right horrible one these past few weeks aggro little guy not nice to see at all needs an intervention
He did look good last season at Forest, but we don't play like Forest and it makes the signing look a bit odd.. Do they intend on countering in games or do they think they can coach him. I'm not entirely sure what direction we're going in... We seem to want to play pepball, but end up going for it late and getting caught. I think if we'd just gone after them from the start we'd have won Today quite comfortably, but we'll never know now anyway.
My biggest issue with us is we don't allow enough individual creativity. Our players are heavily coached, we have a style that has to be stuck too, it's obvious. It means you can telegraph our play, our passes are obvious, our crosses clear. We need to allow our lads some creative freedom, let them try something, let them have a shot on target ffs.
We desperately need a playmaker who can open up defences and create something. We have a very decent squad, but we lack a true cutting edge player. Someone who can change games. I really hope our next major signing is that kind of player.
Our midfield 3 is basically one excellent DM, one excellent deep lying playmaker and one excellent box to box. With no one actually sitting behind the striker. I agree, we need that CAM role filled with someone with a bit of spark. Before Tonali came to us he also was a deep lying playmaker, so playing up field is new to him as well.
