That doesn't sound great does it? Hope him and all his family and loved ones are ok. He's been a decent enough servant to the club, never ever kicked up any kind of fuss when not playing etc. so deserves our thanks and best wishes in my book.
It was quite interesting when it was discussed in the interview with BBM. He left it quite vague, the Jak in Newcastle dealing with a personal situation, quote. He then went on to say it would help if you could just report it like that. I think this is where BBM's relationship with the hacks comes in. There's obviously a personal situation being dealt with. BBM is protecting Jak (good management) and doesn't want any digging make things worse. The guy who asked the question responded positively, BBM thanked him, subject changed. More good management underpinned by a good relationship. Quietly impressive stuff from a relatively inexperienced manager.
Don't think we've drawn a game at home this season but this could be it. Can't see us losing but then again I said that before the Burton game - then it was just a case of how many we were going to score. As far as the prediction league is concerned, gone for a reversal of that 0-3 drubbing we took from them in that playoff semi-final that probably cost Dave Jones his job about 15 years back - but lo and behold, we then got Malky. Still early days but I reckon BBM is the pick of the managers we've had since then. He seems to be able to get a tune out of the youngsters and blend it in with some older heads through his demanding coaching style. With Stevenage at Lincoln today, win this and we could go top 2 - even top if Barnsley can take a point at Bradford City in the Yorkshire derby.
BBM is still relatively unproven, but has the courage of his convictions. When was the last time we brought in a manager who didnt want a dozen new signings? All of which wouldn't trust youngsters. He's not batted an eyelid, just got on with things. You may have noticed that Im a fan of his interviews. Colin was the last manager that 'brought the club together'. BBM has gone a step further, getting the fans, players, accademy, staff, board and press all aligned. It may not result in promotion, though I think we're in with a chance, but there's a good feel about things. If we're top 6 come January, I wonder if he'll look for another signing or two? Whatever happens at season end, it feels as if some sound foundations are being laid. If we go up, it doesn't feel as if it'll take a lot to consolidate our position with the youngsters having a full season of 1st team experience. I think we'll struggle to hold on to one or two of the youngsters, but it's been a while since any of our players have been coveted by others.
All change again. Osho and Chambers at CB. Two accidents waiting to happen. Lawlor still has a groin. Interesting to see how long Kellyman lasts.
The one bit I hadn't twigged. Wintle on the bench. J Colwill and Turnbull start as the two. A bit more attack minded from BBM..
Turnbull doesn't do much apart from circulate the ball. Rarely gets his foot in a tackle and slow. There was an article on him earlier in the week. Has been a disappointing signing for £2m.
I'm not there. Following on BBC Live Scores. Appears very poor. Lots of possession but no end product - again. Osho having a mare - again. Distinct lack of pace - again. Changes needed ASAP otherwise 3rd defeat in 4 home league games.
Happy for the ref to blow for full time now.. 2-1 up, Salech notching... That may have been my prediction
Trott again outstanding 2nd half. Chambers had a very good game. What can you say about Osho other that he’s a total liability? What was Ashford being subbed all about? But when are City going to sort out their first half performances? That’s 4 games I think when we’ve conceded first at home.
