I'm not sorry it didn't succeed. I'd like to see the Lansdowns replaced at some point, with someone who has a true vision for moving the club forwards, but it has to be the right buyer, not someone who has a string of other sporting interests elsewhere.
When you look back at some of the major issues caused by foreign investors over the years it makes a mockery of whoever came up with the idea of due diligence from the administrators when approving new ownership. The situation at Sheff Wed is a joke and the league bosses have just looked the other way and allowed bad things to turn even worse. Try as hard as I might I could never accept Arabic ownership due to the human rights abuses that abound in most of those countries and, believe it or not, there is also a lot of corruption, money laundering and many other things of the nasty variety. American and Arabic money people need not apply in my biased mind - am I so wrong on the woke front or am I just being relistic in wanting a better future for our club?
Realistically there aren’t many potential benevolent British investors with the kind of money required, so it’s likely to be foreign ownership is SL wants to sell at the reported figure being quoted. Like you I hope whoever it is is both honest and well meaning, time will tell.
Agreed It seems to be either Americans or Arabs that are interested, or have the money But as Man U fans will testify, American ownership wasn’t always great under the Glazers and even Old Trafford has been allowed to fall into disrepair which is pretty shocking
Any American investor could be just as much trouble as anyone else. Man Utd is the classic example of American owners going bad bec ause all they were interested in was the abilty to use the Man Utd world acceptance to borrow money using the club as collateral to get loans for other divisions of their empire.
Marvin Brown is not in good health apparently. https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-sup...4-o6ky9MEf5Cxqd5sm_aem_7sQG-QqvKv9Kg4OtXp6yNg Chin up Marv.
