    Happy 66th Birthday Bob Bolder.

A great servant of our great club.

A bloody good goalkeeper in his time, and a proper likeable fella it seems.

Very decent fella - looked after my son at a coaching course down here - all the other kids had all the usual tops and my boy was the only one in a Charlton top:emoticon-0165-muscl

The Church of England is about to appoint it's first ever female Arch Bishop of Canterbury :emoticon-0131-angel

    Good news in my view.
Historically women seem to have been afforded considerably less than equal status within the Church.
Probably most other religions too, from the little I know of them.

Moving briefly away from the mess our country is in, we have extended our lease of The Valley to 2040.

I'd have preferred that we had bought the land but at least we have a bit more security if only in lengthening the lease.

    A five year extension?
Agreed, not the worst news we could have heard. A sign perhaps that our new owners are making some kind of effort.

    Mod edit:

A post containing a reference to Joey Barton has been moved to the current affairs & politics thread.
Not that Joey isn't good news <hug> but the gist of the post was a bit political...

I’ll try not to be political in my response, suffice to say I despise Alistair Campbell & no one man has done more to corrode trust in democracy than he has.

His son Rory set up a highly dubious on
Line gambling tipping business which went bust owing members & investors millions of pounds. His Dad himself is said to have lost a substantial six figure sum in it <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

Rumour has it the Old Bill arrested his son today for various alleged financial irregularities.
