Can't help there I'm afraid. Mick chose the image. I could ask him

    Oddy seems confident:
"I'd say it's the finish of the 2006 Supreme Novices hurdle - right to left Noland, Straw Bear (McCoy), Sublimity (Phillip Carberry) and I think Buena Vista (Timmy Murphy)."

If that is correct I know of one lucky sod who had £40 on at 1000-1 in running. And I was told by someone connected to back him for the race long beforehand. I was even told that he comes under pressure but will run on strongly at the end, which was exactly what happened and why he was 1000-1 in running. How much did I have on it? **** all. <steam>

Ron it is definitely that race (2006 Supreme Novices) but it's not the finish as I first thought - must have been taken earlier in the race. If you view the full picture there are five horses featured, from right to left they are:

    Yellow - Noland (Ruby Walsh)
McManus Colours - Straw Bear (A P McCoy)
Blue & Red vertical stripes - O'Muircheartaigh (Barry Geraghty - not Sublimity as I first thought - he had red and blue horizontal stripes with plain blue sleeves)
Red with yellow chevrons - Natal (Christian Williams)
Pale blue with pink chevrons - Whispered Promises (J P Macnamara)

I can't make out the background but this may have been taken down the side of the course. It's certainly nowhere near the finish as Noland came from a mile back.

Jesus I really got a bee in my bonnet about that one <laugh>

Talking of Noland, he is in action in the King George on Boxing Day. Bounced back from the verge of retirement when winning last time out. Talented horse who has had some problems I believe. Pacemaker role perhaps?

I think he's an intended runner in the Lexus now that Denman is no longer going for it.
