Its that time of the year and we have once again made it to the last 16. I do love a CL draw, its very exciting to know that your team is among the last 16 of such a competition. Last year I woke to the news that we got Barca, and that was not great news. But we did better then I thought in the end. This time we avoid them and Madrid. Also Bayern, who for me are the 3rd best team out there. Also the 2nd leg is at home which is an advantage. please log in to view this image This is my best to worst draw. 1.FC Basel 2.Bayer Leverkusen 3.Zenit St Petersburg 4.CSKA Moscow 5.Lyon 6.Napoli 7.Ac Milan
Agree. Napoli look so lethal on the break. Would worry me. Also Milan have improved this season and have guys like Thiago Silva,Pato,Ibra and Boateng. So much individual talent.
basel were lucky cos man utd were terrible both games. basel would be an easy draw. plus we can deal with them. i watch sum swiss league, and they build slow from the back, not really good at counters so we should be alrite vs them
Also its a shorter travel compared to the two Russian teams. Hence I would love to get either them or Bayern.
Because we are better at home in the CL. No European team has beaten us at home since Inter back in 2003. Get the away goal and then do the business at home. Also as seen in the Barca game last year, there is always the chance of a ref making a wrong call in the face of a home crowd.
I would like Leverkusen. With our current injury woes, i really don't want to face Xherdan Shaqiri. Then again, i don't really want to face Andre Schurrle either.
Leverkusen, Basle or Lyon would be my preferred choice, because they were all slightly dodgy and the travel time would be shorter.
I'd rather play Lyon than travel way out East. Games aren't played for another 2 months, all teams can look massively different in 2 months time us included, we could have Jack and Sagna fit and flying and be genuinely in the title race or we could have lost half the team to injury
Basle would be my preferred draw and if we didn't get them then Leverkusen or Lyon, though I reckon we would beat Napoli too . Definitely not Milan or Russian opposition
I'm not worried about Milan TBH, there's not a lot of depth to Serie A and although they're on a decent run (unbeaten since early October) they've only play one top half team (during the run) I think. They played 4 of the top 6 teams at the start of the season and mustered 2 points. I think we can take 'em....
