Asllani and Etta Eyong been real standouts this season, not just in goals and assists but quality of shots and all around play.

Chelsea and Spain Under-19 striker Marc Guiu is eyeing a dramatic return to Sunderland during the January transfer window despite the 19-year-old only being recalled from his loan spell at the Black Cats in August. (GiveMeSport, external)

That will surely depend on how many goals our front line manage to bag between now and January. If,as I suspect, it's not enough, another striker is highly likely.....whether it'll be this lad is another question.

For me if you look at Reinildo’s suspension as an example we need to have a good look at depth. It’s weakened us significantly I think. I think we need a better step in option there, could that be Lucumi? Not sure if he’s also covered left back but he’s a ball playing left footer with pace. Centre back seems ok, probably right back. The wings feel weaker depth wise to me. I’d say we need to add one there. What if we lost another centre mid now? We have to maintain our competitiveness and I’m not sure we have premier league capability in our depth. There’s also Afcon !

Agree, there's several challenges we could potentially face. Adding Lucumi...which I think we will...would certainly strengthen us. Not sure about the wings...Mundle coming back will give us another option.....it's creativity that we need, which really means getting Diarra,Enzo and Rigg fully functional as well as Talbi,Mundle and Adingra. Afcon,is largely an unknown, we could lose significant players for 4 or 5 weeks,or we could have them all back in a fortnight. Knowing how we plan our acquisitions these days,I'll bet that caused intense discussion and crystal ball gazing during the summer. I come back to the point and I'm consistently worried about goals. Wilson has done well so far,but we have missed a couple of straight forward chances in matches, which we really should have taken. Whether Brobbey will be able to step up,I'm not sure, but this is where my focus will be. I'm delighted with the start we've had,but if we can't take more of the limited number of chances we're going to get in this league,we'll struggle for sure.

Did it mention any 6 month return here? Someone mentioned it's a possibility?
