Henderson is getting starts now though but Carrol is homesick apparently according to the BBC website.

I was listening to some scousers on TalkShite the other night. Most seem to think Henderson will come good but seem to be writing Carrol off.

The lad obviously has the ability, it just hasn't worked out for him down there but will Pool flog him on at a cut price?

Impossible to say given how many young players will come through in the next 6 years, but using only current players:

    Hart
    Richards Jones Smalling Gibbs
    Wilshere McEachran Milner(c)
    Chamberlain Sturridge Walcott

I'd like to think Rooney might be gone by then.

    So, by peoples reckoning:

    ---------------Hart----------------
    Walker -- Jones -- Smalling -- Gibbs
    -------------Rodwell---------------
    --- McEachran ------ Wilshere------
    -Chamberlain- Rooney - Sturridge---

I think we may see Micah Richards in that side at the expense of Walker or Smalling. It depends how they all develop.

Honestly, I think that side, with all of the players at their current age, would do a bloody good job. So when they all get 5 years of experience under their belts, we could see one of the best England sides we've had in the past decade or two. I think that follows the 'Spain mould' more than any other side we've had, with a strong attack-minded defence, a very creative Iniesta/Xavi style CM duo being protected by a solid DM, and then a very potent front 3.

The front 3 especially should be great. Three very stocky and powerful forwards who also have a lot of creativity, agility and finesse.

He only has ability in one way: a big traditional target man who turns crosses into goals.

Unfortunately, football is changing, and that traditional sort of English play is becoming more obsolete, especially with the top teams who are moving onto short passing 4-3-3 formations.

He's a bit stuck, really. In the right target-man style play, he can thrive with a lot of goals, but as soon as one of the top teams swoops in for him, he'll struggle as none of the play will suit him. Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs don't play the right kind of football for the guy, so I don't know what he'll end up doing.

It looks decent but you look at the Spain/Brazil youngsters coming through and we still wouldnt have a chance at a major tournament.

To be honest.... This! However the team you have chosen could well be the one we see in 6 years and it is a pretty decent team. It would beat our current one <laugh>

Disappointing Chappaz, when I saw the title I thought would be a list of current England internationals and we had to predict where they'd be in six years' time. :(

No way !! they are all English. The International game is allabout money now so by then we'll have foreign players in it. sorry but it's true. Just because you hate me you might argue but look at international sport already.
