Arrogant is certainly not a word I would associate with Ange, and I’m an Orange Bastard! He was the least confrontational manager in Celtic’s history, never used excuses etc. never got involved in all the Rangers Tims ****e (unlike me). He might have finished lowest with Spurs, but they had 9 first team players out for over 4 months with serious injuries, can you imagine City without McBurnie, Hughes, Lundstram, Ajay, Coyle, Slater, Gelhardt, Millar, Pandur out for 4 months or more???? He concentrated on Europe which he won. You can say what you like about who they had to face etc. they were the only team to get to the end, so with all due respect, you’re talking absolute bollocks.
Would come across better if he said the same things but looking straight at the camera rather than his boots.
‘Yeah, mate, we had to finish 17th so we could win the Europa League. It’s who we are, mate.’ *looks down at the floor*
I've got to be very careful here not to upset someone on this board, but he comes across as a typical Aussie sports person. Read into that what you will
There’s not many Celtic players or managers I would ever back or like, probably Kenny Dalgleish, Henrik Larsson and Ange. He probably felt bad himself and wanted to do better, but what he achieved with his top top players out for 4 months, was a miracle. Frank has them third atm, but they’ve drawn with Wolves, Brighton and Bodo in Europe, scraped past Leeds and the only real top 6 team they’ve played so far is Man City. Decent against PSG, but will it last? We’ll see. I’m pretty sure if they’d kept Ange, they’d have done better this season, but I could be wrong.
