The country where she refused to listen to their orders about turning around because she was approaching an active combat zone where there was a naval blockade. Our border force could learn a lot from the Israelis.
... she was in International waters ... Israel had no legal jurisdiction there as far as I'm aware...
It was closing in on active war zone that the Israelis are involved in. They had every right to intercept. I’m not sure how far out they were from the coast but Israel will have legal jurisdiction for up to about 15 miles from the coast. That can be doubled if they have genuine concerns about their laws concerning immigration and customs.
International waters used to be classed as 12 miles when i was young but that was a long time ago, not sure if it's different now.
Is that nautical miles or land miles mate? It might actually be 12 nautical miles which I think is about 15 miles. Could be wrong, though. Anyway, forget the whole Israel/Palestine thing. Actually forget the Israeli army. These aren’t people rocking up on dinghies to try and claim immigration, this was a convoy with over 40 boats. They could be anybody, any weapons or explosives on these boats and they’re heading to a war zone where they’ve got their troops on the ground. These people aren’t ‘brave’ they’re ****ing idiots who clearly don’t realise the seriousness of that side to it. There’s many a country that if they were at war would have warned them to turn around and if they didn’t heed that advice they’d be blown out of the water. They’d not put their troops at risk like that. Understandable as well, tbh.
I'm 100% with Mr Starmer on this one - not just on the un-British bit - it's unhumanitarian - anybody demonstrating today should be thoroughly ashamed - does nothing for the possibility of a future 2 state solution - in fact, it delays / inhibits it... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cjedg497k4pt
I’m coming round to the Isrealis they are nice guys after all if they were nasty they would have blown the boat up nasty people blow things up that’s a good one to use as a measure to establish who the good guys are will see if I can find any recent examples in history
It's always good to look for the positives rather than negatives I find, and hadn't really thought of what you say. However, there is a dilemma underneath blitzing them, in that you would be killing other people's nationals, imagine blowing up Greta, you'd be pissing off a population of 11 million people, although 10 million of them might see the positive in that to.
