Can you please stop the infantile insults. How old actually are you? I swear you are just looking for arguments and resorting to infantile insults shows you've lost the argument (again) ! And it's always the same likers. Odd that. Small margins, but the picture shows definitively that Hughes mid foot is on the line. The front of his foot, which is what stands on Campbells foot, is at worse on the line to just the right side of the line. How you can dispute that when there's a picture that shows it is beyond me, other than you want to argue that black is white just because I say black is black. Just do the decent grown up thing, hold your hands up and admit you got it wrong (like all the other nonsense).
i didnt get it wrong its clear as day in videos, campbells foot is INSIDE the area the OTHER side of the line not sure what more there is to say please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Just googled it. You are indeed correct! My error, I thought on the line was not included as being 'in the area'. I've only been watching (and playing) football for 56 years Still looks clear to me like the feet were on the line, even from Brady's photos. That said, yes, it would therefore have been a penalty were it given as a foul. We got away with one.
I'm sure there were other video angles too, but 100% from the live video feed it looked to be inside the box. Was it before the actual penalty? Perhaps it influenced Ward to give them the actual penalty (which was the correct decision).
After 9 games we are on the same points total as this time last season. Feeling pretty happy with where we are though. If we can get Matazo and Belloumi back, we have a real nice core of players.
I don’t think anyone really noticed it at the time, the cameras just picked it up so the sky feed went back to the replay and the commentators said “oh look that should have been a penalty”
This is a good example of how VAR is bad for the game. I don't even know when this incident was, I'm sure I'd have noticed if anyone appealed at the time. Thankfully we don't have it and the game carried on as normal based on the game everyone there was watching, rather than having a penalty awarded for something nobody noticed or cared about.
Being honest, I wasn't sure, hence googling. Yes, I should have known, and probably did at some time past. Nothing wrong with being honest, and holding your hands up when you aren't sure, or are wrong about something. Still doesn't change the FACT that Hughes' foot was on the line for the 'stamp' (see mine and Brady's 2nd photo - clear as day) VAR would have given it.
Nothing wrong at all, but probably best not to act so confidently and condescendingly in a debate without knowing the rules of the game, particularly a pretty common one.
I think the difference with last season is - our points have been spread out. Last season we had those 3 wins back to back and never realistically looked like we would win another game. I'm not sure what happened that week but it was very much against the grain when it came to our performances. Us picking up points this season feels far more sustainable and the fact we are scoring regularly (we're now the second highest scorers in the league!) is a big plus. If we can get the defence sorted we'd be doing really well.
