I have no interest in and next to no awareness of Scottish football but I was vaguely aware of there being a lot of unrest among fans about his appointment. I noticed a similar thing with Sheff United and Selles. Maybe a coincidence, but it does seem in hindsight like they were both doomed from day one. Appointing someone deeply unpopular is a recipe for disaster whether they're a decent manager or not.
Best atmosphere of any football club I’ve ever been to. Celtic, Aberdeen matches unlike anything I’ve ever heard, European matches, incredible club, incredible fans and given me some incredible moments in football terms. Certainly no “tinpot club”, you clearly have zero clue of their history or players, not that I would expect you to have.
Although I fully agree with the pathetic sectarianism. It’s for this reason I can’t stand either club - cmon the Jambo’s!
I wish Glasgow Rangers every success in appointing a proper Manager to lead them back to glory, a great football club.
Sounds like it’s a disaster at rangers and not just Martin Just from the beeb article Kevin Thelwell, the sporting director, and Patrick Stewart, the chief executive, did those deals. The pair of them were confronted by an angry fan at a hotel in the wake of the loss to Sturm Graz on Thursday. Thelwell is now bringing in his son, Robbie, as head of recruitment. Nathan Fisher, another former colleague of Thelwell's at Everton, is coming on board, too, as head scout. They are entering a world of fury. There's a dysfunctional air around Ibrox.
Is this the end of the tip tappy possession based footy? More teams seem to be going to the old school tactics of long throw ins & route 1 long balls up front. I always said possession based footy was a short term boring trend
