Substitutes made the telling difference. Orient 3-2 up and changed to only one defender on Kellyman- a big tactical error which allowed him & Kpakio time and space to create.

Osho was a liability all match. Lawlor and Fish the better partnership.

BBM’s philosophy of keeping the ball in play at all times when Row Z would be better is questionable. That was the cause of Orients 3rd goal.

In the end we can thank Trott again and again but whatever it’s 3 points - Orient will feel hard done by but their defence was poor.

4-3, boring :emoticon-0105-wink:. Back in the day I saw us 4-1 down at Orient with thirty-five minutes left to play, we won 5-4. One of the lads we went with was ejected at half time when we were 3-1 down. :emoticon-0138-think

Just listened to Wellens post match interview.

All I’ll state is at the end of the day it’s about putting it in their onion bag more times than the other team…..

To be fair, there was erratic play.

    Osho had a mare.
I know Lawlor scored a great goal, but didn't think his defending was that much better than the other 3.

    Interesting interview with BBM.
Good that he recognises what isn't working and is starting to adapt.
Sparky will be pleased to see overlapping fullbacks getting some crosses in.
A nice cross for Salech and a pullback for Robinson's second.

Hoping that the passing game is plan A and what we saw in the second half is plan B.
As previously said, mixing it up for periods would be the way to cause defenses issues.
Might have given us a different result against Burton.

Really liked those two goals that came from out wide - classic crosses - one lofted for the header and the other driven across for the onrushing striker.

Midfield didn't work yesterday. Wintle and Colwill jnr were both inneffective. To his credit, Colwill snr tried very hard to make up the shortfall but it wasn't working for an hour. Zak never looked comfortable and the triple substitution came at the right time.

Orient were a completely different animal to Burton last Tuesday, and from his pre-match comments BBM seemed to recognise that, but only responded when we were 2-3 down. Turnbull's control, Salech's presence and Kellyman out wide put City on the front foot.

Looks like Wintle needs a rest and if we need someone in front of the CB's (whoever they are), I'd give Chambers a go there. He's aggressive and will put his foot in. Time we took control rather than with Wintle tidying up and passing it backwards and sideways - Lawlor and Fish can do that.

Up top there's got to be a case for playing Salech and Robbo together - bold move but it could frighten a lot of teams at this level.

Kellyman started to show what he can bring to the team playinh inside more. Linked well with Kpakio.

Orient certainly caused us issues by playing 2 up top.
Question is, could we cope with just 1 holding midfielder to switch to a 4-1-3-2??

I’ve now watched the extended highlights. Being near the Canton Stand I don’t get a clear view of the play towards the Family Stand.

Now have had a clearer view of the 2nd half. City were so indebted to Trott who pulled off some top saves to bail out some horror defending. Connelly and Ballard are two decent players who didn’t deserve to be on the losing side whereas their keeper and defenders did.

Mind you if City had shown more composure in front of goal they’d have had 2-3 more goals. That Kpacio slaloming run was superb.
