I agree to an extent, but you also have to consider what was said itself. Like I said above, you can take offence and claim almost anything is racist, but there would still be a difference between calling someone an overtly racist term and using a general term that was taken offensively. Besides which, isn't Suarez' whole defence that he didn't take the South American thing offensively, and hence his response was also not meant to be offensive? Hmmm, another one sided viewpoint there...you seem to have forgotten Rio getting charged for elbowing a Hull player after Gerrard got away with elbowing both Welbeck and Brown... Surely based on KPR logic that would make him as bitter as Mark Robins? And like I said above - he "saved SAF's job" (if I had a penny for everyone who claimed to have done that), and LFC saved Wrexham when he was in charge. So there doesn't seem to be any bias towards either side there - if anything the presence of Smith will help keep the whole thing calm and try to find a way out that is fair to both clubs. Mmm...spacktard...good comeback And that's a pretty poor argument if you're trying to use it in this case, cos Suarez didn't say the rest of the sentence in Spanish, and wasn't talking to a fellow Spanish speaker. a) is obviously worse. It's a common principle of law that actually committing a crime is much worse than a false accusation. Prisons aren't full of people who falsely accused someone else of committing crimes, are they?
this hypothesis does not always apply - both offences constitute the use of words - we're not taling about false accusations of things like murder or rape - in my opinion the more heinous the crime, the more heinous the making of a false accustion of same
I'm probably going to have to side with Swarbs here. The only way falsely accusing someone of rape or murder could be deemed as serious as actually commiting the crime is if the person accused was wrongly found guilty. There would be parity in this case.
If you accuse someone of an act that you know they didn't commit, that is just as bad in my eyes. You are setting that person up for a fall, it doesn't matter if they are found guilty or not guilty, they will always be associated with that lie.
that is my point rhc - making a racist comment is a verbal act - accusing someone falsely is a verbal act - they are both equal in my opinion - thats why i made the differentiation between racism and murder/rape i stand by the comment that the more heinous the crime, the more heinous the making of a false accusation of same. Not saying they are the same but the greater the crime, surely the false accusation is commensurate eg. To falsely accuse someone of being a *****phile must be serious but not as serious as the actual offence of *****philia racism is different as the use of a racist term is a verbal act as is the making of a false allegation of racism

The Racism is killing me! haha, always a good laugh this, he knows how to have that double sided humor.
Haha, it is a good laugh, this one and the black white supremisist were top top stuff for me. Also " I know Black people" is really good, I will load one of those up.

I think we're missing the bigger picture. Evra complained that Andre Marriner sent him off 'cos he is black. I presume this has been corroborated by the referee's match report as Evra's reaction to having been booked. So when will the FA be charging Andre Marriner with an act of blatant racism? And just how long have the FA been employing openly racist refs? I think we should be told...
