I think this is a game where xG isn’t a fair reflection. 0.8 came from a stupid soft penalty and the rest probably came from that goal mouth scramble. The only other time they had any threat was with shots from range. All of their xG came from set pieces.

We got in behind their defence quite a lot of times and ****ed up the final ball, I would say we had a lot of very good chances to create a goal that would have registered 0 xG.

The rest is pretty meaningless really but we did have better possession stats.
They had far higher possession stats plus they hit the woodwork and got a penalty, both from open play, with twice our XG. But all this is to ignore my original point, which is that we struggle to get a hold of midfield and control possession which puts extra pressure on the defence. It was totally evident today with us spending most of the second half defending against a team at the bottom of the league. Maybe `Matazzo can be the glue that pulls it together but I don't have much faith in Amir or Gyabi being that player.

I'm in s2 so had a perfect view, he has lightly brushed against Ings' calf, Ings' has screamed and hit the floor like a man who's been 2 footed and the ref gave it....technically, it's a pen but the ref had let a LOT of soft ones go for both teams where players tried to buy a foul from minimal contact so I was a bit surprised he gave it
That’s exactly how it looked from behind in E5 too. Contact, but soft.

Delighted with their penalty. All their strikers and creative players on the pitch. Toss it to the reserve left back that had just come on and played lime he was suffering dizzy spells.

by the way

its nice that the kc is back closer to a fortress than what it was last season

we've got almost half of the points at home already than we did last season

10 vs 23

now... coincidentally we are the worst team away from home so far but:1980_boogie_down:
