Only a week into his new job at Preston........... Peter Ridsdale sacks Manager Phil Brown and his assistant Brian Horton. After relegation from the Championship........and a good start to this season............Preston have come off the rails in the last eleven games and have slumped from top to tenth.
Don't you just love the way he uses the word WE, as if he has been there for years!! What a miserable excuse for a human being!

I was about to post this up until I saw the thread. As below: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16178900.stm He does not waste time. I hope for Preston's sake it is the right call.
Just giving credit where credits due Plymborn, he is a barsteward of the highest degree and sadly I think you are right Mouldy ..... and oh so happy he still isn't here lol
Preston have been struggling financially for some time with a winding up petition in 2010 and are now allegedly losing £0.75m a month after relegation from the Championship. That ring any bells? Good luck to an historic club & their fans!
Think greengull was speaking with his tongue in his cheek, as far as being a manager Fletcher is still wet behind the ears, a decent player yes but sadly I don't think he should be managing anyone at this moment in time !
Whatever you may say about Ridsdale the one thing you can say is he does make an entrance doesn't he. Lets be a bit realistic about all this and him for once. How may times have I read on here that football is a results business? No need to answer because we all know it is many. When he sacked Peter Reid, despite anything else about Reid, the results were crap. Many reasons why but nonetheless we were rubbish. Preston's results have not been the same and therefore the manager takes the fall. There is nothing unusual about any of this is there. It is the stuff that comes with Peter Reid that colours the opinions about the moves he makes more often than the move itself. I just hope that Preston do not go down the same route as we have done for the sake of the supporters of that club. Whatever else he does at Preston is for them to worry about and they will either love him or hate him in the end dependant on the results just like the manager. If they get out of the fnancial **** and the results pick up then I guess he will be on their hero list whatever his previous.
I think as a.........." firefighter"........Peter Ridsdale is your man............Preston are losing bucketfuls of money every month.............just out of the Championship, they are desperate to get straight back. They are still in striking distance of the play-offs............even though they have only won one match in their last eleven...........a new manager might just jump start their season again. James Brent's chat at the Hoop & Grapes Thursday night was very supportive of everything that Peter Ridsdale did at Plymouth.........and was sorry to see him move on........he was very aware of what some peoples views were regarding Ridsdale's past...........Brent I believe has not got were he is today by not being able to judge people for the job in hand. He is also very supportive of Carl Fletcher.........and will bring in the support that a young new manager needs..........he will find ways of helping him...........so although some of us feel he isn't the right man (I'm one of them) Fletcher is here to stay, so lets hope his judgement is spot on. Brent will be looking to bring football experience into the managerial side of the club to build good foundations to a club that has been devoid of stability for too long........to live within it's budget and with help from supporter groups to keep it on an even keel to always be aware of what is going on.........patients is the word..........task number one.......Div 2 football next season. I think there is a good chance of a strong partnership developing between PAFC and the Fan bases that support the club..........it is so evident that James Brent desires that to be the way ahead, who would have thought that the Akkeron's Boss and a union man could have a good relationship............the cause has united them..........and surely only good can come out of it for PAFC.
Somebody like Brent is hardly likely to say anything critical of Ridsdale, what's the point of him getting drawn into that? For that reason, you can't base much on what Brent said. He wasn't so worried about Ridsdale moving on as to give him a meaningful role at PAFC [e.g. CEO] was he and he didn't make much visible effort to stop him going to Preston. What is 99.9% sure is that Ridsdale manoeuvred the administration process to get control of PAFC himself and in favouring the BIL bid nearly brought the club to its final ruin. Brent stepped in at the last minute - and let's not forget Brent said that he thought there was a 90% chance of liquidation at that stage given how dire the situation had become as time went on.
At least he has gone. I just feel sorry for PNE. With all his history, the fa and league fit for purpose rules are a load of b**locks!
Quite right mouldy I did mean the "other" Peter. Brain a bit fuddled having mixed with Kentonians for a week as well as travel fatigue.
