Were you around for the 0-1 Seb during the miracle season, I'd like to think we can dick them or get a point.

He’s their Mick Beale in my opinion …

… inept, aloof and very difficult to like.

talksport also said that his appointment was the reason Ashworth left and went to the skunks, dead against the appointment who wanted Southgate.

    https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/s...versatility-sunderlands-lutsharel-geertruida/

REGIS Le Bris believes Lutsharel Geertruida has already shown that he will be a pivotal utility man for Sunderland this season.

The 26-year-old, who joined the Black Cats on loan from RB Leipzig late in the summer transfer window, has played the majority of his football as a centre-half. But Le Bris also saw the Dutchman's versatility as a real asset, and so far he has been used from the bench in a holding midfield role at Crystal Palace and at right-back in last week's win at Nottingham Forest. And Le Bris would be comfortable playing Geertruida in three other roles…

“His attitude is really good," said Le Bris. “With a late signing like him, it's always a little bit more difficult to connect in his strongest position because other players are already generating momentum and this is a positive for us.

"I still think Lucha is still a really good centre back but he is really versatile and when we signed him, we felt that his versatility could be very useful for us. He has already shown he can play midfield, right back, he could also play as a centre back in a three or a two. Probably as a left back as well, so now it's a question of momentum.

"It's obvious to say that at the minute, Nordi and Omar are doing really well and before that, Ballard was impressive. The competition is huge which is a positive for everyone, and we know that the season is long so there will be opportunities for everyone."

You said you never thought you'd see the day we could beat them, as I'm not sure of your age I wasn't sure if you were around when we done them 1-0 at their place.

Is there a chance the game could be called off due to storm Amy? Apparently the North West is its primary location.....

9 para special strategic reserve on standby for anywhere in the world, some places you wouldn't believe and still can't talk about it, but was born in Hendon in a rough time, and was proud as punch to serve my country, which then was a privilege, now theses gut less fekkerers have made it.So real terrorists get protection and those who served get prosecuted without legal aid, which they give to murderers now

Don’t think so mate, I reckon it’ll have calmed by then …

… by the look of their keeper a slippery ball and our monsters flying in could win us the game.

Winds have just picked up here in North Wales mate.

Really looking forward to this match.
I'll try and get the 12 year old grandson round to watch it with me and me son. He's manure. I'm hoping to convert him and a good win might turn him :emoticon-0148-yes: <laugh>

He'll get older and wiser and will realise his mistake.

It seems weird that we are playing UTD at Old Trafford and a lot of pundits on tv and online are tipping us to win(I know they have been poor but it is Man UTD).
For me as a fan I am always wary when we are confident because of history, in truth that should not matter because it is nearly always different players, managers etc. But the niggle and unease is always there (the gift of being a lads fan), however this current set up has constantly upset the odds and sprung more surprises than I can remember.
IMO we will win this 0-2 and be fairly comfortable doing it.

some Man U fans think they will win 4/5-0 as we are a nothing team

some want to lose so RA is sacked,

some fans of other clubs doing their predictions, have us down to lose too, saying we have rode our luck and its about time it ran out,

love how rattled we have some

As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I got into a discussion with someone on a football thread on reddit about us. He basically said no team has stayed up since Forest so we will go down, I pointed out that if he was going to use the past as a marker no team has had 11 points from 6 and went down in the history of the Premier League.

Then had some back and forth basically he reckoned we were a long way away on 11 but his team Wolves on 1 will be fine! Has us getting 'a mauling' on Sat and probably losing most of the next 10. He insisted he had watched some of our matches and we weren't as strong as I made out and we had just had an easy run!

He stopped replying when I pointed out if I'd asked him before each match he would have had us losing to them all but in particular there is no way he would have gave us a chance against Brentford, Palace, Villa or Forest and likely would have predicted a mauling by Palace, Villa and Forest. Villa would have been turned over but for a stupid kick out by a player.

Other fans can continue to have us as just lucky etc... as most won't find the time or need to watch Sunderland. Pundits and in some cases fans of teams who have played us are saying different after actually watching.

I am confident of the season ahead obviously anything can happen and will never be 100% but I don't think this coaching team or the lads themselves would let the wheels fall off. Even in the harder runs they will battle in every match, if that defence stays as solid as it has been we are in with a chance against anyone!
HWTL Amand **** the rest long may it continue where we are "just Sunderland who have won cause of the other teams not because if how our lads performed!"
