This I love the fact that most of the Liverpool fans have spent the last two months telling us Suarez is only alleged to have used racist terminology and that he's innocent until proven guilty. Yet as soon as Evra is accused of using words that weren't even racist themselves (I'm pretty sure "South American" is a common and inoffensive way of referring to South Americans...) he's immediately guilty of being a "**** stirring racist". Would love to know exactly who has made those allegations against Evra - it's obviously not the referee as then it would have been in his original report... N**ger, pronounced "nyiger" means black in Russian, and has no racist overtones. Would love to see a Russian player try to use that one to justify use of the "n" word in England! Regardless, I'm getting increasingly tired of the whole thing. Hopefully it will all be over on Friday and everyone can stop whining about it
Yes, it's absolutely shocking that the FA should choose Denis Smith, a man with no connection or loyalty to Liverpool FC whatsoever. Oh wait... http://www.lfconline.com/news/tmnw/dennis_smith_thanks_liverpool_football_club_288424/index.shtml
I'm beginning to come to the conclusion that you are the most dangerous and rare form of rabid united supporter: An intelligent one.
swarbs... if i called you say english then ok no offense i suppose... what if i called you a european? well now i'm not sure cos maybe you are a euro skeptic or something... in exactly the same way i cannot 9nor you) can tell if a uraguayan would take offense. I can't tell how sarky evra said it either, did it sound insulting... i can't tell and enither can you. If a guy said a spanish phrase then you cannot translate it into french nor english to get the n word form it... simple enough... if evra took deep offense he really ought to have said so to the ref at the time... not goine off and kicked a player o nthe side line then accuse the ref of being a racist for booking him.. theres something not quite right there IMO, not sure how anyone can take one incident and make it into 10 incidents for french tv, not complain to the ref, accuse the ref of what he is acusing someone else of and then be taken seriously... oh and theres not evidence that evra ever said anyhting but theres no evidence suarez did either... not that you or me have so really we all await a verdict that i' mwilling to predict will either be no case to answer or will go further to an appeals body and end up being very embaressing for the FA. as for the panel you are now accusign of bias... beofre its given a veridct. "The experienced three-man panel, which gathered on Wednesday afternoon, is chaired by Paul Goulding QC, who comes from the same Blackstones chambers as Adam Lewis, the barrister employed by the FA in Wayne Rooney’s successful Uefa appeal last week. Goulding, a qualified FA coach, appeared for Jean Tigana in his successful claim following his sacking as Fulham manager and has advised Premier League clubs and players in the past. Also involved is Brian Jones, the chairman of Sheffield and Hallamshire FA who wrote to all his county members on June 20, stressing the need to fight discrimination. The third member is Denis Smith, well respected within the game following his time as a defender at Stoke City and managing clubs such as Sunderland and Oxford United. " now dennis smith is as old as the hills, and the ARTICLE YOU PUBLISHED is merely him thanking LFC for playing some reserve games at their gorund to help them survive. NOT ONLY THAT ITS FROM 2006.... thats it.... thats the basis of a claim of bias... if they put neil warnock on you'd not be happy... i suspect highly only alex ferguson or steve bruce might satisfy you! come on! thats
I'm not saying it wasn't insulting, but to call it racist is stretching the definition of racism by a long way. If you called me English I could take offence, for example arguing that I have some Irish ancestors and you are insulting me by ignoring that. But that wouldn't make you a racist, that would just make me a whingy bastard I'm not claiming there is any bias. I'm pointing out that the article sword provided, which argues that there is a clear bias because a former Man Utd player, who played about ten games for the club, used to play for a club that Denis Smith used to manage, is quite clearly bullshit and based on a very selective view of the facts. That part is pretty much par for the course for Evra. As has been pointed out above, he is a whiny, gobby little man who likes playing the victim. It doesn't make him a **** stirring racist. And like I said, it's all alleged, and not even clear who is alleging it...
and my point is merely..... who knows what someone might take offense at, offense is in the ear of the hearer...... if suarez took offense is doesn't matter if evra emant it and apparently thats the same for evra.... and why the charge is made. i just want to see whats the decision at this point. i don't mind seeing a decision if its the right one and is clealry the right one
what is worse a) making a racist remark about someone b) falsely accusing someone of racism evra has accused suarez of the first one while being guilty of accusing marriner of being a racist. both offences are as bad as each other
Where has it come from that Evra has said this to the ref ?? Has it been confirmed anywhere ? or are people simply believing what one reporter (wrote whilst trying to sell papers ) has put in his article. Surely if this was true it would have been reported on before almost 2 months after the match and I think the referee would have put it in his match report. Has this happened ( I'm genuinely asking as I haven't read the article )
yet it seems that this is acceptable while suarez is being hung out to dry - suarez has to attend this hearing while he should be preparing for the busy christmas schedule of matches
