Palmer's corner when it never beat the first man, then the free kick which hit their bloke in the family jewels. Just not him though. There was a corner in the second half which went out for a goal kick at the other side. Makes you wonder what they do on the training ground. In the first half we were way off the pace and lost all of the 50/50s. Improved in the second half when we actually began to put a challenge in.
From the east stand I thought it must have been deflected as there was no pace on it and Pandur didn't dive. It didn't even go in the corner
A split second before Smith shoots Pandur adjusts his feet, looks like a sort of jump to his right. He doesn’t see the shot and then doesn’t have time to react afterwards.
If you watch it he sets himself and is going to his right and can’t readjust Doesn’t look good but not the end of the world He made an allsop we can move on
Clearly he fancies himself for a job on soccer saturday when he hangs up his boots and is just sliding in a quick audition there.
If he carries on and knocks in 15+ or even 20+ goals this year he'll earn himself another shot at premier league footy next year
I think Palmer wanted to mark Small but other players were telling him to mark the space on the edge of the box instead. I didn't see what came before that with Palmer apparently coming back to the box having originally been up the pitch, but if that was the case it suggests he was brought back to fill that space. I still don't think it was ultimately the cause of the goal because there were enough bodies around him and Drameh's pathetic challenge was the biggest culprit there, but it does point to a lack of organisation that players are so unsure where to set up for the first corner of the game.
It’s not even like it was a great shot right into the corner. It was right next to him. Equivalent to a striker diving in head first to block one of our own shots on the enemy goal line.
This sounds crazy, but having played in goal for a while mainly as a kid, there’s definite something similar to ‘goalkeeper’ YIPs like you won’t dive to save the ball. It’s hard to explain, but to put it simply he’s monumentally out of form. Obviously linked to the amount of goals we are conceding.
We're shipping loads of goals because we gave two centre backs who seem incapable of winning the ball in the air
