Bored with brutalising immigrants, Trump has now delared war on American citizens of the left - 'the enemy within'. Nearly there.
Hardly. Trump was speaking to a gathering of army generals. He was talking about a literal war. Starmer has rightly called out right-wing racism thuggery, criminality and racism...... 'Controlling migration is a reasonable goal- but if you throw bricks and smash up private property that is thuggery…if you incite violence that’s criminal…if you graffiti on a Chinese takeaway telling them to go home, that’s not pride that’s racism'.
Starmer has been more than a bit of a let-down recently but it’s good to see the fierce defenders of freedom of speech making such a massive meal of “hurty words”.
Saw a very apt phrase the other day..... Those on the Left always think they're right and those on the Right are always being told they're wrong by those on the Left.... Anyone? ....
Tony ******* Blair back again trying to rehabilitate himself 'I'm a pretty straight sort of guy'. Even now he makes my blood boil How he or anyone else could envisage him, and being British to boot, heading up and running Gaza 'on behalf of the Palestinians' must be mentally unstable - it was the British who started this mess 75 plus years ago The sheer crassness of this 'plan' beggars belief
It’s the best offer they’ll get and it’s a bloody good one for what’s left of Hamas as well as for the well-being of Gazans. They’ll play a few silly games along the way no doubt but I think they know the game is up and this is a great deal.
They’d argue the same applies to the other side. Whether Starmer’s words were right or wrong is of secondary importance to the sheer hypocrisy of Farage. What he said really wasn’t so awful in the grand scheme of things. Is Badenoch still about or are Reform now the official opposition?
The Tories are dead. Reform will be the team to beat at the next election. Having said that, I still expect Labour to form the next government. Farage has shown by his hysterical reaction to Starmer’s comments how pathetically thin-skinned he is. I think he'll fall apart under the proper scrutiny he'll be subjected to in an election campaign. Up to now he's just been getting his tummy tickled by the media.
I didn't mention anything about the deal - if you actually read again what I posted Yes I agree its the only game in town, no matter how good or bad it will be - i have no issue in any 'deal' that in theory stops the bloodshed My issue is the audacity that Blair has to head this new Gaza Management Committee. Surely he is not a credible person to head up anything There must be far more palatable persons
More palatable to us maybe but as an experienced statesman and neutral as one can be, maybe not. We can debate the bloke’s strengths and flaws all day and at 72 I doubt he’s in it for the super long term but he is a highly-respected and experienced person across most of the world, whether we as Brits like him or not. He’s part of the deal. If it’s not him that deal changes which probably isn’t much good to anyone right now. Also a plus that he’s got enough about him to not be a puppet for Trump if there’s a risk of that.
He was Bush's puppet and pushed through his dodgy dossier to start the whole shooting match. The Middle East totally unravelled after that. But then he's spent plenty of time feathering his nest since then mostly advising despots...
