We have no new injury concerns, so assuming that we start with the same XI as the last two games, who makes way on the bench if Brady is to return? The last bench was - Basso, McShane, Dudgeon, Cairney, Garcia I think we will see Brady return and it will probably be at the expense of Cairney.
I'd go with: Basso, Dudgeon, Cairney, Brady, Garcia Two defenders on the bench irritates me, but since Dudgeon has been coming on in midfield lately anyway and Cairney doesn't look like playing any time soon, I expect we'll see your bench OLM.
thats what i said on the way home from chav land. TC was dire @ southampton so has to make way. i wonder if NB may be brave enough to go without a 2nd GK(basso) on the bench ? and bring back Dele. i would take a chance. my bench would be : McShane - Dudgeon - Brady - Garcia - Adebola but i guess NB will play safe with Basso. as a matter of interest, does anyone know which outfield player Can Play In Goal ? like Deano did.
Is the Basso injury simply his tendonitis meaning he can't take goal kicks, or something that impedes his movement and means he wouldn't actually be of any use in goal. I'd be tempted to just risk it and put Brady on in his place. Obviously Gulasci would get injured in the first five minutes and I'd be proved wrong, but may as well have more options to win the game if Basso isn't 100%. The five subs rule was such a stupid inclusion.
I think we'd probably put him on the bench because he's the closest we've got to an impact sub. But maybe at the expense of Garcia or Dudge(/Dawson) why would we have Dudgeon, Garcia and Brady all on the bench when they're all wide options and take our only backup CM out of the reckoning? It's a long shot but with the big boxing day game at Boro to consider we might see McShane & Cooper on the bench to replace Chezza and Rosie as they're both on 4 yellows. It'd be a negative tactic but one worth considering as it probably our biggest game of the season and they've been 2 of our best players so far. It'd only be worth doing if we're 2 up and there's only 20 minutes left obviously, we'd never lose that type of lead...
I don't think there's any chance of us going into a game without a second keeper, I think the only two options likely to be considered are either Cairney or Dudgeon.
Bloody South Americans not wanting to play in the cold!! Reminds me of Theo since he was always **** between November and March (i'm aware he's not South American)
it has to be TC after his pathetic saints effort. Garcia can play anywhere in midfield and up front so gives NB options. Dudgeon can play full back or left midfield so he has to be on the bench. i think Dudg can also play centre-half if needed so he has to be on the bench. Brady can change a game so thats a no brainer. So its down to Basso or Dele ?
If it aint broke don't fix it, first team will stay the same (unless i've missed out on any suspensions?) think Brady will probably have a place on the bench in place of Cairney.
Lol. joking aside, its the cold that brings on the tendonitis alot more. i wonder if Basso had to come on and play if they can give a pain killer ? a mate of mine suffers from it and its no fun at all.
I'd replace McShane on the bench. If we need to replace a CB we could possibly move Rosie there and have Daws and Dudge as FB, or someone may have said that Evans can also play CB? The main reason though is that I'm scared to death every time McShane is on the pitch!!
Evans can play centre back, so it could be an option, but I think Cairney is far more likely to be sacrificed.
Just seen via the hull city fb page that Olifinjana is due back shortly after christmas...what are the odds on him being shipped out on loan again in January. It seems like his injury has lasted forever and I just get the feeling the reason it's lasted so long is something to do with his contract and City not wanting to play him for money reasons.
thats a tad harsh mate. after watching gardner and zayette, McShane is as safe as houses - well almost.
I think his injury will be what prevents him going out on loan in the window, who's going to take a punt on a very highly paid player who hasn't played all season?
well if we loose both Chester and Rosie at the same time to suspensions and Evans has to fill in at centre back then Oli is perfect for midfield. I hope that NB gives Oli a try at least. Maybe the Barmby effect will get Oli playing the way he can and as he showed in that Stoke City PL game when he scored.
