As above. We have real potential if we can sort the defence out. New gaffer still getting to grips and a lot of new players. Miles better than where we looked at been at one point.
This team is mid to play offs in my opinion if we sort the defence out.

Not sure if it’s been posted but it’s interesting that Jakirovic said we deserved to be booed. Proper fan first mentality. Desperate for him to succeed.

Remember when Walter said he ‘heard the Portsmouth fans’?

I thought the crowd were decent last night. First half was dire all round and they deserved a bad atmosphere but the fans got right behind the team in the second half.

Maybe he could have said in the first half I take full responsibility for picking the wrong line up.

It annoys me how bad we are at set pieces, defending especially. It’s a controllable all the players should know their roles and plan for every eventuality. The amount of free reign sides have at the end of the box on second balls is crazy.

Because if a goal keeper is keeping clean sheets and getting rave reviews week after week then he is a decent keeper, no matter what level he is playing at. A 'non league' forward doesn't try any less to score then a Premier League forward, and Cartwright was an England Under 19 international, he deserves a chance or at least recalling so the management can have a proper look at him. TLT, I have never rated, mainly on his statue, he is too small for a keeper.

Fully agree, I really want him to do well. If he can improve the defence from the worst in the league to just bang average we’d have a shot at the play-offs the way he has the attack firing.

    No hindsight from me!!
And even at the time it seemed incredible business to finally get a proper, proven, quality striker on a free.

I thought there were two Smalls, the Sky summariser kept referring to Terry Small.

Got to say I'm fully invested in the bloke, really likeable fella, and has us playing more attacking then we have for a long time, not sure if that's why we've suddenly become shyte in defence or what but I'm really hoping he finds a happy medium.

Fair question. I don't think the current back four are working. Understand the question marks about our midfield but I don't think they were primarily at fault for either of the goals last night. Ajayi will hopefully make a positive difference. Wednesday fans generally seemed to rate Famewo, other than injury concerns, and Wednesday wanted him to stay offering him a new contract. Twt but I suspect there's a v decent player there IF he can now stay fit. We already know for sure that Ajayi is class...just the same caveat. Tbf maybe too early to have both starting.

I noticed it too. Wasn’t actually Palmer’s fault. He was gesturing to those already in the box about Small being left unmarked.

I think last night shows exactly what we are this season.

Inconsistent but fun to watch at times.

I’ll be honest I’ll take that after the weirdness of the summer and the boredom of last season. I’m going to games now expecting to score and hoping for a win. That’s ok.

I've not seen too much of either keeper but I do believe TLT is rated the higher at City.

At the end of this clip, there's a view from straight behind the goal scorer for their second, it was terrible from Pandur...
