Having read the proposals, it's an ambitious plan. It needs Netanyahu and his right wing nationalists out of the picture too along with Hamas, if there's ever going to be a viable Palestinian state though.
It’s completely unrealistic to think Israel isn’t going to have a lot of influence at least for a few years. It’s a phenomenal deal and the life expectancy of your average Hamas militant just rose by about 50 years.

The IDF have destroyed much of the historical antiquities in Gaza so a few tunnels shouldn't be an obstacle.
Maybe. There’ll be the usual mad election soon with some mental coalition winning due to the voting system. Just having a hard rule of the deal being Netty steps down is also unrealistic. The West Bank and Gaza must be due an election too. Those four-year terms are dragging on a bit.
Hamas are seen as a group who bring terror to their neighbours and are being told to stand down. By the same measure, Benny has brought far more terror to Gazans than the other way around, so logic would dictate that he also goes But I understand this won't happen. He needs to be voted out though. Your lot deserve a better leader who will actually try and build bridges, rather than a bigger wall and an endless war.
Chances are he will be but it’s been a constant ridiculous side point of this thing that deeply unserious people whinge the Israeli government are somehow as bad or worse than Hamas. He wouldn’t have been in power for the last however many years if the Palestinians could have held off the urge to blow up buses for a few weeks. Quite the sliding doors moment.
They've certainly brought more death to Gaza than Hamas have to Israel. So I'm not sure what metrics we're using to measure how bad each side is. Although if Hamas had the weaponry that Israel are given, then it would probably be a 2-2 Desmond score draw. Benny's govt is full of actual fascists though. We think Tommy and the EDL nonces are bad here. But they are like saints compared to some these vampires. Along with the Hamas freaks who want to kill Jews, these people all need lobbing down a deep dark hole together.
