formula e is not **** becasue it uses electric motors its **** becasue, the tracks are terrible, constant hairpins and chicanes, narrow track does not make good racing, itd be fun to hot lap in one though i just think theres not much excuses left for having combustion engines around pedestrians and residential areas, its appallingly bad for peoples health hybrid is the way to go, the ice can run on motorways and the like electric inner citys and suburbs
I know a lot of rev heads who once they drive hybrids or electric cars are pretty surprised at the performance.
Nobody can deny the of the line and "in gear" roll on acceleration of a electric car is great at worset and phenomenal at best, but they never feel as good to drive as a ice and I doubt they ever will and let's not start on the fake sound they pump through the speakers.
When I was chosing my last car, it was between a Jaguar ipace (all electric) and an F-Type Jaguar, which is a beast of a sports car that you hear coming. I was surprised to find that the ipace was quicker in acceleration (0-60) than the standard F-Type. That sort of made my mind up as well as it being a bit more sensible, such as for the grandkids school runs.
You'll struggle to find many sports cars that can match electric cars 0-60 times. The hypercars struggle.... If you want to see some of the amazing pace the elec cars have over ICE cars, check out carwow on YouTube and the drag races they do. Id of still taken the f-type though
This could possibly get me to switch to an EV, being a former Karmann Ghia owner, I'm a big fan and this looks great (sadly, it's claimed release in 2026 isn't actually true, it's actually just AI generated, though Karmann are considering something along these lines)...
Next time we change our Car , highly probable we will go hybrid . Dreaming of an M5 Touring , thinking of a ŠKODA Karoq , if they do a hybrid version .
