Think we lose again. We just look a bit shot. And ****. We have the feel of a club that doesn’t really know where it wants to go and is too reliant on memories. The truly elite players will - like Isak - start to get a bit fed up and given how hard we’re being carried by the likes of Tonali, it’s an uncertain season ahead. Victims of a fairly shambolic recruitment strategy overseen by a manager trying to do too much.
He’d have always gone mate. Qualifying for the CL and adding Ramsdale, Elanga and Ramsey to your squad? The players can see it even if some of this board can’t.
We don't even know that it's speculation. I'm still convinced he's right about recruitment regardless though. Tbf I've always said this I'm not winding... Look at Brighton Palace and Bournemouths.. It's better
Bournemouth lost 4 of their back 5 and replaced them with ease. Palace look like they know exactly what they’re doing. We look amateurish. You can’t run an elite club with the head coach calling all the shots, an absent CEO and so on. We just don’t excite in any way. We’re so vanilla. The PL want us to stay there and so do the media. So, seemingly, do many fans.
We don’t have an absent ceo. we have a new one. The absent sporting director was sacked and new one is imminent (Forest). You lot did this **** last year with Howe calling for his head. You were told wait for Brentford in cup and see what happens and it turned around perfectly. Playing 4-3–3 without a recognised striker or left winger kind of ****s things up a bit, and when he changes it up you moan like **** about being vanilla and boring. grow a ****ing set of balls and a spine and dig in or **** off and tune into watch QPR every Saturday.
It's impossible to argue with this.... What we're are seeing is a poor side after a disasterous transfer strategy over the summer. They've provided huge amounts of money to sign players that haven't improved the side in any way whatsoever. I think we've done an Everton at this point... Big fees for players that aren't great and psr will become an issue. Things probably won't get any better and might need a freshen up, but it'll go on and on for a prolonged period because Howes got a year of credit. We've been here before and he's turned thimgs around, so we have to hope he can... We'll only replace him Gareth Southgate or Scott Parker.
We aren't a poor side but I think Howe is scarred by the last champions league season and is overcompensating this time round. Rotation is fine but it needs to be controlled. He needs to settle on his starting 11 so they get familiar and then use the subs to prevent fatigue. Howe needs the international break to hopefully get Ramsey and Wissa back and get the season up and running.
Wissa - starting 11 injured Hall - starting 11 but had been injured for ages Botman - starting 11 but has been injured for ages Burn/Schar - no longer starting 11 but are part of the best defense we've ever had Gordon - starting 11 but banned for 3 games out of 6 Nothing to do with rotation. Main rotation was against league 1 opposition and rightly so
Yes and no. Thiaw and Elanga were brought in and should be 1st choices. Schar cant play 2 games a week and due to concussion protocols looks like Thiaw has took rhe opportunity. Elanga only seems to get 45 mins at the moment. Hopefully this is just bedding in period but he needs to be starting more.
Isak wasn't first choice to start with was he? Was eased in gently over time as it's a new system and team..
As I’ve said countless times, a forum is a place to express opinion. The replies I sometimes get are as if I’m insulting people’s family, makes no sense!! All I’m doing is saying it how I see it. The summer was handled appallingly because we didn’t have any leadership. The purchases we are making are repeatedly dull hence the vanilla comment, and it has been a bland season, no attacking flair, huge lack of goals, weird selections, etc. I’m not saying it’s irreparable and Howe needs to go, but what does need to happen is a lot of change if we want to be elite. In my opinion this feels like 23/24 when we floundered, but for some reason actually feels a bit more ‘off’. Gordon’s dropped off a cliff, Joelinton and Bruno have both done very little this season, Elanga looks to be a poor purchase, Lascelles is still getting games, and so on. I don’t rate far too many of our squad, I think we have failed consistently in the transfer market and Eddie does carry the can in part for that, and is certainly culpable for consistently poor in game management and pre planned subs.
I find it strange that we’re the only team who seem to need to do this. I’ve used the examples already of Palace and Bournemouth, but really you can chuck in anyone, the mackems, Brighton, etc. All seem to be able to buy players to go into their first team immediately. It’s puzzling why we seem to be a special case.
You have to win the games.. If you're always thinking about tomorrow and you get Today wrong then what you're doing isn't currently working.
