Saints line up in the steel city against Sheffield United in the clash of teams who should probably both be higher in the table. Sadly, the Blades replaced boggle-eyed Ruben Selles with a man carved from the cold heart of a grizzly bear just in time for this game. Here’s a short poem about the match, as is tradition. Can still be sparkling? Blades Should be dull if carried Sharp Played for both. The end.
If we don't win this then I think fans will start getting pissed off with Still. Nothing less than 3 points.
This is the problem with only taking one point from Stoke, Watford and Hull. When the tougher games comes along against the likes of Boro and Sheff Utd, the pressure to win is greater. Taking this triple-header in isolation, I think five points would be an acceptable return. But when it follows just one win from six, then two wins from nine would be an issue.
Im not desperate at this stage. Not bothered about promotion this season. Just want to see us improve as the season goes on, and be ready to push for next season. Oh and a big win at Fratton thrown in for fun.

Yeah, my doubts about Still's management and tactical ability have subsided a little in the last two matches, I think that you can only start judging the team after about 10 games after the transfer window closed as there has to be an experimental period (Martin lost 4 in a row during his). I'm heartened by the fact that he is not afraid to change things up and make quick decisions and the team have looked better motivated in the last two matches. Things will get better as the team settles I believe as we have the players to be in the mix for promotion.
This is going to be unpopular and I'm braced for the backlash but...... This is must win for me. Draw or lose and its one win from eight which would be completely unacceptable given our team and budget. I'd be joining team Tom.
Nah not this time. Apart from not wanting him when he was appointed, I've given him a pretty easy ride
One good thing with the Championship is the games are more frequent - not if you are playing crap every game but I suppose it gives you a chance to build on momentum and to keep good form going. Let's hope Saturday was momentum and we build on it. I'll be optimistic until we let a stupid goal in around the 60th minute. It'd be nice to score early on - or even go 2-0 up in the first half. It's been a while....
Had they not bought wilder back this would have 3 points all over it. Hoping he's had the "new" (???) manager bounce this weekend but the team weren't crap when they got rid of him in June and they've not changed much in the last 3-4 months so hard to read this as it shouldn't take him long to undo Selles' input. Same team (fitness allowing) as saturday and the same level of energy etc for me.
We play Sheffield United next I'm sure they are nice fella's They really should have played us first Before sacking Ruben Selles
Pop me on the subs bench. It's about time some of these players played to their potential. We are only 7 games in though, so there is still plenty of time for us to gel as a team. We should be aiming for promotion this year, I can only see it getting more difficult next season. Deffo not panic time but ffs give us something to cheer.
