For me I feel it would be a poor signing. John Gossen on the other hand, is a young quality player who would fit well into our team.

If I'm honest, the price-tag makes me think it's not concrete...surely we wouldn't pay 2mil for him?!

well its like i have been telling you Scott ....we are in the premiership now ..
well thats £2.3 million spent out of your £3 million already which leaves .7 million for another 5 players ...<laugh> I wonder who we can get for that.....<laugh>

I think this is paper talk if you ask me, can't see us going in for him, well I hope not, and Swamp makes a very valid point, though I don't know how well he's doing for Ipswich, but I think the reason he left Rovers, was because of a bust up with their new manager!...........

"Swansea have distanced themselves from reports they have agreed a £2m deal with Blackburn Rovers for midfielder Keith Andrews.

They had made an enquiry for the 31-year-old but are believed to have been put off by his wages, which are thought to be close to £25,000-a-week at Rovers" - icWales......

There we are Dai, try digesting that, from icWales online!.................

"I am sure there will be movements in and out in January," said the Swansea manager.

    BR today quote -

"I see the agents are doing their work at the moment and throwing out lots of names in the media.

"It's that funny time of year when all sorts of names come out.

"But I think people who know the way this club works know that we will not be spending £2 million on a 31-year-old, for example."

Rodgers is referring to Keith Andrews.

I really hope we dont sign Keith Andrews as i dont think he would suit our style of play,I would prefer it if BR surprises us in January with little known players like he did with Vorm.

Yes agree with the goose transfer if we sell ourselves to him, could be a good thing with our other dutch contingent putting in a good word and especially if vorm does get a shot with the national side

We were the 13th highest spending team in the Premier League from the close last season to the window shutting in the fall . You always try to make us look like 20th .... 99 , but were not . 12,100,000 spent on transfers .

It shows how football is going mad, a squad player is ok 25k a week at Blackburn and for that money i beleive he has offered little in return, Ipswich are obviously covering that wage now (though funny if their not considering the fuss they made about us not wanting to cover scotlands wage fully) and they are hovering just above relegation!

I dont want to be too judgemental on the player but im guessing his performances arnt really justifing that kind of money. Add a transfer fee onto it and it makes him one of the very top players at our club,a player who did nothing in the Prem league and is average in the championship, it seems more like agent talk to me,hope we leave well alone :)

What's your source for that figure, Cracker?

    I can find:

    Caulker - loan.
    Lita - £1.75m
    Routledge - undisclosed (let's say £2m)
    Vorm - £1.5m
    Bessone - released by Leeds
    Graham - £3.5m
    Moras - free
    Moreira - undisclosed (let's say £1m)
    Tremmel - free

    That would be £9.75m??

[I suppose it's not that far adrift from yours actually, given some unknowns]

Why haven't you included the cost of Borini in your figures aswan, was he completely free? and while I didn't feel the need to pull Breezy up on his time scale, I thought that Sinclair was a relatively new signing for last season!! Add those in, and Breezy has got a pretty good approx figure which I would not argue over! I think I'm going to call you 'Mr pedantic'........................

Well done Breezy, answered the doubter well, good on you! I don't think many of us would have pulled you up over the 12 Million spending, as it seemed reasonably well placed for our club!...............

aswan_dam was just asking where I got the information from , the figures surprised me , especially the one on Routledge. I assume agent fees are included but I don't really know . These figures are just something I found & can't even say that there right .... or wrong truthfully
