Slightly off topic but nonetheless... I love Christmas songs. Not only do they provide the only chance for one to legitimately listen to Gary Glitter in public, but they genuinely fill me with Christmas cheer. I was even caught listening to Happy Xmas (War Is Over) by John Lennon in mid-August by a cheeky window cleaner.

For the record, I work in a supermarket where xmas songs are on a loop so I feel well placed to judge and John Lennon's effort aside, I believe Chris Rea to be the Christmas song don.

If you get a few minutes, please listen to the Guildford Cathedral Choir perform Silent Night. It is simply divine.

Ah, obviously soaking up the local culture, Stu.

    Rurik Gislason in midfield.

No he didn't Stu, let go way too early IMO - now a regular for his national side.

Saw him a couple of times, good distributor and a venomous shot.

Fulham are strolling this one though - Frei looks really good. I expect this to be roughly the side they put out against us in The Cup.

Quiet on here, Stu, but obnoxious and disruptive elsewhere - if you know where to find me!

I stayed away due to a bit of upset I caused a couple of weeks back. However, I decided to indulge myself on the 'chanting' thread to see how the general feeling was. It was okay, so I thought I would add a little Crimbo cheer to proceedings.

It is good to be back. Again.

Thats exactly what i was thinking-This will be verymuch like the side that will play us.Over 4,000 tickets already sold to Addicks for that game BTW

Strange how i look at games in a different light now, with us top of the league, looking at players on both sides to see if there could be any 'bargains' or potential loan players for us for next year. Always thought Utaka was a good player for Portsmouth , but looks a bit disinterested tonight.

Ponders, I like having you around so I'm glad it was my thread that got you posting again <ok> Hopefully you stick around.

European fans generally have a nice tendency to 'adopt' English songs when playing English opposition, usually to great effect.

Back to the topic of this thread...personally I love all Christmas Carols moreso than songs. But if we're speaking songs then it has to be The Pogues without a doubt. I love Christmas though so I enjoy practically all Christmas Songs, no matter how cheesey or who sings them.

Thank you, WWOCB. I am touched by your kind sentiments.

With regards to Crimbo tunes: I hate poor covers by second-rate pop acts. The likes of Destiny's Child, Kylie Minogue and Robbie should stick to their usual dross.

Cliff Richard is a class act, by the way.
