Hmm I agree with the concept but I am seeing waaaay too much of this to wish people the best it seems many very good players at grassroots are being ignored for the children and relatives of ex players seems to be getting like wrestling - whilst I understand that there is some logic to it - I am also seeing kids fast tracked because of who they are not right imho but what do I know lol
Stupid. But in the end if they change the qualifications and groups such that teams dont play more, they just play some form of weird table or fixtures that allows it i really coupdnt give a ****. You can make it straight knock out football with a last 64, last 32, last 16. If you make a 4 team group that's sole expectation is to eliminate 2 **** teams and then have an extra step of last 32 to eliminate another 16 **** teams then what's the point? Nobody will be watching.
You underestimate the general public. People will always watch. It’s a World Cup. Same as the club World Cup. People moaned about it, no one wants it blah blah blah, but people watch it because it’s football during a time when there is no other football. If there is nothing else on tv and I’m sitting down and a games on, I’ll shove it on as something to watch as it’s more entertaining than easterners or some random reality tv show.
Watch who? Slovakia v n korea? Not a chance. The reality is anyone decent from the America's and europe are already there. The rest would be make weights. Africa gets a reasonable allocation but more could be given but not many and Asia has enough for the state of football
