Following the debacle at Blackburn, our team kicks on, get their rhythm, patterns and style of play and give an entertaining performance in front of the PR faithful. 3-1 Chappers ruled out presumably. He attends the game and gets a rousing reception.
I can see it being another stuttering performance, the thrashing of the Blades was a one-off. 2-0 Town. COYB!!!
I'm a little bit more cautious about predicting a win, given our slow start to the season. It's looking to be quite a strange Championship division in that none of the parachute payment clubs have started particularly strongly (especially so if we're adding Sheffield United to the mix). I don't think anybody would've predicted an early top two of Middlesbrough and Stoke before the start of the season. Pompey have played six - two wins, two draws, and two losses. Nice and balanced. However, it's worth noting their away form has been better than their home this early on. An opening day away win at Oxford, followed by credible away draws at West Brom and Southampton. I think this game will be a struggle and I can only hope we've made the most of the week to work on partnerships and systems. A 1-1 draw.
The players will be galvanised by their fortune last weekend. Pompey will make it a tough encounter. A strong showing 3-1.
