So you have learned that the rich bleed the poor to death?

Some do, the vast majority don’t, a lot of self made billionaires out there, making their money by had work and some luck. Totally agree about the ones who's ancestors were in the right place at the right time to help a king and get land back in return. My brother built his company from scratch, hard work paying himself less than lads working for him at the beginning, now employs over 20 lads. Has he bleed the poor.

If you seriously think house prices are just down to immigration I think you’re limiting your listening. Supply and demand is also because many wealthier people own more than one house these days and some own many /multiple/ air b and bs etc Council houses were allowed to be bought and rented not council owned to help the next person on the journey and there were restrictions on building new ones because they wanted private landlords

Apart from the second homes and Airbnb ( which should be banned) all others are still in circulation, both private or council still avail for rent. How many houses have been converted into HMO's, and million + new builds. There is not enough avail land in country to house 900K extra people a year with all the other building required.

Billionaires can pay more tax without knowing it man. If they came from nowt why not help others to have a civilised life. Why have a billion quid when your neighbour can’t eat ? It’s vile

House prices the worls over are increasing so it can't be blamed on a particular country or government in my opinion.

I honestly think the biggest issue is supply and demand which thus creates another price increase factor of locality. I remember when i was young my parents bought in the furthest out suburb as they couldn't afford to buy closer to the city centre. Nowadays people want everything within walking distance with every mod con already installed. I'm sure that if most people expanded their search radius by 30 minutes travel by car they'd find properties that are nearer to their budget.

Air BnB's force up the long term rental rates which makes rental affordability more difficult due to supply and demand.

For example, in a tourist area i've recently been working in weekly rentals average $400 per week during the wet season. When the dry season comes around those rentals get taken off the market as the owners can get between $4-500 per night for short term holiday lets

I use Garnier Micellar Water to take my make up off. I went to add a 700ml bottle on my next grocery shop and it's gone up to £10 now. A tenner just to clean my face :emoticon-0104-surpr

Checked on www.trolley.co.uk and it's on Amazon for £6.48. That's a massive difference. It's worth shopping around.

we’re done through a period of immense growth since the 90s with profits yet there’s been wage stagnation

whilst at the same time costs have gone up and this has been exacerbated by the debt crisis caused by Covid

whilst people had in worse back in the day, in the era of capitalism says 1990 to now, it’s actually getting harder for ordinary folk year on year

food inflation brought on by what was mentioned above but in the last 12 months directly related to increased NI costs placed on employers

many example of home insurance going up 20% on renewals

    Energy up year on year

    things are spiralling

according to the attachment, a Freddo should only be 12p... but yes, give everyone 5 percent more, add 6 percent on what needs taking off them.

Set this chart to 5 years , Cocoa , just like the gas and electric a few years ago , price has gone through the roof. Since covid there's been a boom in many commodity prices. Timber, those that buy wood will know. Same thing happened after Spanish Flu 100 years ago, inflation and markets. Nobody's happy with it but that's the world. Doubt any government will save us either. 1970's was a period of high inflation after Oil prices surged, hope we're not heading there.
