Has Ekitike just won the most daft red card of the season award?

Just lost all sense of what he was doing I guess.

Those of us that have been following NZ's FA Cup thread would probably have seen him play on YouTube as Chichester took Whitstable Town to a replay.
As I progressed up the leagues refereeing, I was always nervous about the concrete path and barrier around the pitch, often only a metre or two from the touchline. The only surprising thing to me is that this hasn't happened more often.
Given amount of money in the game, this is a wholly avoidable tragedy as: the money is there; the will to redistribute it to make the game safe, is not.

    Just like society in general.

the advertising hoardings (mostly electronic these days) around the professional pitches are also dangerous I feel….the other week against Blackburn Irankunda was shoved into them and stayed down for a bit, and I also remember Nathan Ake going over the hoardings at the vic end of the GT stand which as you know Fez (you did a dissertation I think) has a drop of about 1 metre the other side - again gladly he got up and was ok

there was also a young player who died in the Sussex county league a few years ago in the same circumstances

what the answer is I don’t know - push the barriers further back and have the ‘playground tarmac’ (the stuff that is squishy) instead of concrete??b
