B*****t coming from Bates and Penfold. Not six months ago the club were boasting how low the wages were compared to turnover and that we were a example to all. Now the wage bill is VERY VERY high and were going to have cut the squad. They have got to be very carefull because with season ticket renewals round the corner, alot are already talking about not renewing. BATES OUT
Couldn’t agree more. I've posted an article from the square ball on another thread that seems to suggest players will be going out & not necessarily coming in. When teams in and around the play offs strenghthen I expect to see us drop like a stone. Hope I'm wrong! Also Howson will be out for much longer than expected & I bet Bates/Grayson spin on this window is we have signed two prem stars already in Pugh & Keogh, although of course they wont strenghthen our squad anymore as there already here!

Hopefully he's bluffing to push transfer fees down .if we dont invest this january then bates can't be serious about getting promotion this year .i cant imagine why he wouldnt want us in the prem as soon as possible but if come the end of jan he is talking about the loan window opening soon then surely no one can deny hes a total ****er
Thing is, we dont even own ER (do we??) and we've spent loads recently doing it up. I would take that as a good sign of Bates trying to make a buck when he sells on, but I think thats a long time off so why arent we investing on the pitch? Surely Prem football will justify the price Bates wants to set out. I dont believe for one second he is funding the renovation for the fans & those executive boxes wont pay for themselves in his lifetime surely? He cant really be ****ing us over about his score board at the bridge can he? Also he wants to start writing things down as he is obviously going senile. Because if he continues to forget the lies he spouts he will end up losing us more money when hes next back in court.
He's building the club before the team. People seem to forget, a team is viewed once maybe twice a week, building hotels/casinos etc are available 7 days a week. Should this financial fair play rule come in, are we not only allowed to spend a % of our income? Not saying I like Bates, just considering an option.
Hes building all this on something we don't even own! He shouldve spent the money buying it all back when we had the chance! Hes a **** end of and if we do get to the premiership its only gonna get dearer not sure I want that
I understand that, but who is coming to Beeston 7 days a week? Hotel will do ok on match days but that’s about it. When I stay overnight its usually in or around the town centre so you can go out after the match. Not many people are just going to check in at 5 o’clock and stay around the arcade of shops that will be built around ER. Anyway, one season in the prem would probably fund all the remaining work so I know where I would direct my money. It just seems he doesn’t trust Grayson to spend so he doesn’t get big signings & Grayson cant sign quality on a shoe string (the majority or time) so its a vicious circle and thats why our squad is over loaded.
ACFE, those leisure schemes (hotel, nightclub, casino, shopping outlets etc.) will make us no money. If they can't turn a profit at Chelsea Village which is surrounded by some of the country's most affluent areas, there's no way they'll do anything than rack up the losses in South Leeds. We're already performing well within the Financial Fair Play threshold for wage spending (which can oinly be 60% of turnover). If we stopped wasting money on ****e, that would make us an awful lot healthier financially. In fact, if Bates had given Grayson all the money he's squandered on worthless rubbish, we'd be in the Premiership by now. I honestly believe that.
It was publicized a few months back that Grayson would have to get rid of some of the dead wood, in order to bring new blood in, we shouldn't be surprised
It was only 50% on the last available stats for last season. Can't be bothered to find the link, but it was us and Burnley who spent the lowest percentage of turnover on wages. When you consider we have the highest turnover (for last season) as well, we could be paying the best wages even if we kept within the FFP rules like other teams. Bates chats absolute ****e all the time. Remember 2 months or so, he tried to suggest that 8 Championship clubs were more expensive than us. Maybe he genuinely thinks we are 'morons'. He's the ****ing senile dope.
