Before we moved here we rented in East Dorset. The surrounding land was owned by an Arab who I must say invested in his land to great effect. He erected a huge structure on his land and no one knew what it was for. I eventually asked one of the estate workers and he said that he was building his house inside it and it was to protect the construction! I wonder if he will put the structure on freecycle, must keep an eye out......

Extreme heat warnings are issued again. One lady I know sits with her feet in a bowl of cold water.

Feeling cranky. In their wisdom, my bank in Australia decided to add another level of security to their online banking system without warning - just a six digit code sent by SMS. So yesterday afternoon I discovered that they didn't have my mobile phone number, so couldn't send me a code, so I was locked out of my account. Had to ring them this morning to sort it out - now the code goes to my email address. My first ever £120 phone call, most of which was spent listening to piped music.<grr>

Even more annoying, for the last 15 years their security system has allowed me to generate my own six digit code - a system which has worked perfectly all that time. If it ain't broke, why try to fix it?

    I feel ya!

I have an account in England with Lloyds, similar thing. Enter a User ID, then a password. Then on the next page 3 selected letters or numbers from another password. Then an automated call to enter a four digit pin that enters on the screen. When I enter it now it doesn't recognise it. Before the call didn't even come through. For years this was never an issue.

I am on my 5th and last chance to log in before getting blocked. Being blocked means a call to them and an hour or so on the phone. I am going to wait to see if they can fix the bug.

Also, I need a new card but when my Sister sent it over it was intercepted. Apparently, cards can't be sent by post due to money laundering now. So, I guess it was destroyed in transit. If not, someone has my new card and I have one more chance to log in online or I am blocked again.

    Fing banks.

I could tell similar tales so am with you on this, computers are supposed to make life simple eh! they seem to make life more complicated and time consuming and as for listening to piped music (at a cost) and dealing with bots.....:steam:<wah>

Great time here! Dishwasher dies, then electric WC follows the same route. Trod on my glasses that I use for typing, they are beyond repair, and a bug that is not comfortable. More expense.

Chilly yesterday in Limousin . Lit the wood burner in the evening for the family and disturbed a hornets nest in the chimney. Came downstairs this morning and trod on one... resulting in a very painful sting

Question...Is this a good omen for a Hornets sting today??

    I hope so!

Went out for seafood here. 8 hours from each coast. Oh my, back now and it was tip f*ing top.

A crab tostada and little crab stew as a free starter.

A stuffed chile with marlin and prawns, with a white Mole sauce.

Mrs has fried Marlin tacos with a salad.

And a corn pie with ice cream to share.

Three drinks and all for 30 quid.

Back home and Mrs is happily asleep on the sofa.

Mexico has a lot to offer in terms of food to be honest. Really nice and varied.

    ¡¡Hola a todos!!

Bloody freezing up here this morning - overnight snow flurries have thankfully turned into rain though.
    Central heating dusted off...

In Dunblane we used to get our first frost around the end of September, In October we saw the first snow on Ben Lomond (lifts my heart) but in Dorset wont see a frost until November!
