The new set piece coach should benefit us massively this season

That new set piece coach came with a good rep didn't he? Think we picked him up from Charlton iirc. Can't remember his name tho.

Forgot about that, good shout fellas. If today is anything to go off it’s working, Villa weren’t even putting their corners into the box they kept going short. Wonder if that’s because they knew we were dominant in the air?

Couldn’t be prouder of those lads. Kept forgetting we had 10 men and that’s all you want to see!

The team spirit is unreal. Massive point.

Shame about Reinildo because I think we could have had 3 points with 11 men.

Mukiele is a ****ing monster

Talbi put in a great shift, thought he looked very confident going forward once he was on the left. Always works very hard off the ball
Talbi is great, I really like him.

I thought their set pieces were terrible, their set piece coach (fella with the long hair) stood in the technical area when they took them. Quite a few were either overhit or won by on of our magnificent centre half's.

We've made a solid start to the season. Signings and points on the board above expectations . Today we fought back and never gave up ,another bonus . That looks to be one of our strengths . RLB must know his stuff so there shouldn't be any doubters now. Hume and Ballard are premiership standard and hopefully a few others ? Isidor might end up in double figures even as super sub . 10 goals a season is top stuff in this league. To think we've hardly seen the new lads at their best. It's all very promising.

Just after some clarity on the rules as there seems to be a bit of inconsistency - the ref booked their player for (I'm presuming) holding/grappling/fouling on our corner. Could/should he, instead of whistling just as the kick was taken, let it play out and then award us a penalty instead (a la the Brentford game) instead?

Or does he have a duty, because he's seen it before the ball is in play to act as he has today meaning the booking and the corner retaken?

I'm guessing the latter.

When he gets a bit more nouse and gets experience he’ll be a top player. Makes the odd naive decision but has so much ability. Just needs to be more streetwise which you only get from games.
He's not as athletic and pacy as I expected him to be but he's technically and tactically very good and generally uses the ball well for a player of his age.

Needs to have a little more belief in himself and drive at defenders. Remember at one point second half he was pissfarting and Sadiki came in, took the ball and drove past 3 of their players into the box.

The game has stopped. Can't commit a foul when the ball is not "in play". When the corner is taken and foul play is still happening he can then choose to stop play or allow the advantage to be played if that is the case. Up to referees discretion.

Today’s result and the point at Palace are so good to see.

In the past we’d have lost both games - getting praise for pluckiness or being labeled unlucky but ending up with nowt.
I think the performance today will be massive to bring the group closer together. They showed real fight ans desire to not get beat. Fantastic considering quite a few won't have known each other that well a few months ago.
