The Rumour Mill has well and truly started,....... I like Zamora but will he cut the mustard at the SoL ?? WHo else have YOU heard about recently ? TALK SPORT Sunderland and Wigan are tracking Hercules striker Urko Vera, according to reports in Spain. The 24-year-old has impressed at the Second Division club this season, having arrived from Athletic Bilbao in the summer. And having scored five goals, he is reportedly attracting interest from the two Premier League clubs, who could make a January bid for a player valued at under £1m. EATSLEEPSPORT Martin O'Neill is being strongly linked with a swoop for Fulham's Bobby Zamora as rumours persist about a bust-up with Martin Jol.Both QPR and Aston Villa are also said to be in the running for the England international, while new Sunderland manager O'Neill has made strengthening his frontline a priority since taking over at the Stadium of Light.O'Neill sees Zamora as the ideal player to fill the void left by Darren Bent's departure to Villa in the last January transfer window. The player himself is understood to be desperate for a move away as he looks to secure a place in England's Euro 2012 squad next summer.A move to QPR however, could suit all parties as he wouldn't have to uproot his family while getting the chance to play regular Premier League football under a manager in Neil Warnock, who is a confirmed admirer. ASTONVILLA-MAD With the recent speculation of Nathan Delfouneso being reunited with Martin O'Neill at Sunderland in January, the owner and manager should be wary of a supporter backlash of agreeing such moves. There are likely to be exits from the club in the summer, and Heskey will be free to go...probably to Sunderland.

Jelavic 7m from Rangers http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...rtin-ONeill-wants-Nikica-Jelavic-Rangers.html
Some of them are ok..esp.Petrov and Warnock.... Warnock one of the most under-estimated l/b in the league..
Interesting, I will be pissed off if we sell Bardo as I think he has been our most consistant defender for over 12 months now. Nothing on that list gets me excited really, Warnock would be a solid left back but that's about it.
Aye read that mate....know little of him... Martin O’Neill is weighing up a January transfer swoop for Nikica Jelavic. The new Sunderland manager is desperate to add firepower to his shot-shy side and Sportsmail understands the Rangers striker is high on his list of targets. With Nicklas Bendtner and Connor Wickham the only fit out-and-out strikers at the Stadium of Light, O’Neill has prioritised a new front man — and the Croatia international ticks all the boxes. Wanted man: Nikica Jelavic has been in impressive form for Rangers It is unlikely Rangers would let their star man go for less than £7million and O’Neill must decide if he is prepared to spend the bulk of his January kitty — around £10m — on one player. O’Neill has a track record of plundering both halves of the Old Firm since leaving Celtic in 2005. As Aston Villa manager, he signed Shaun Maloney and Stilian Petrov from Celtic and went to Rangers to take Carlos Cuellar a year later. West Bromwich Albion, meanwhile, are also to the forefront of the chase for the 26-year-old, while Kenny Dalglish’s Liverpool have been linked with a move for the Ibrox icon. In the market: Martin O'Neill wants to sign a striker in January One major advantage for Roy Hodgson is the West Midlands side’s willingness to let Graham Dorrans move in the opposite direction to his boyhood heroes, which would solve one problem for Ally McCoist. While losing Jelavic would undoubtedly be a huge setback to Rangers’ hopes of retaining the SPL title, gaining an attacking midfielder would soften the blow. For their part, West Brom are the English Premiership’s joint-lowest scorers and badly need that to change to move away from the lower reaches of the table. Jelavic joined Rangers on a four-year deal from Rapid Vienna for £4m in 2010 and proved an instant hit, scoring 33 goals so far.
I have close links with Glasgow & Rangers are skint as ****. They would snap your hand off & pull your arm out with it at that price. Looks like a canny player too.
I don't really rate Zamora. Plus at his age is against him. Nice to know we are looking around. Wonder if MO'N has a word with Flash 'Arry this weekend to see who is available there? x
Thing is though, just about EVERYONE that comes up from Landan only manages to hand around for 6-12 months before hankering for some decent nightlife, top class restaurants, theatre shows other than the Panto at the Empire etc etc. Yes .... Newcastle is apparantly a good night oot !! But as an SAFC player .......??? That surely rules out Pav, Corluka and Zamora straight away ?? Lets face it,......... we will never attract any long term "Class" unless they are starting out on the road to stardom !! It appears that NUFC have had a good spell of buying low and selling high with some low profiles. That is surely the way forward for us,....... and our new scouting team.
Selling mig and buying butland whould be an amazing buy for us for those who dont know him he is the next big england keeper really good at 18 starting england under 21s ahead of steel and amos
i would much rather go for zamora's team mate johnson who is more likely to get us the goals we need as we dont need another plank up front as we have a couple of them already at the club plus johnson is out of contract in the summer so we could get him on the cheap. Zamora was crap against us when fulham were at the sol a couple of weeks back.
Sunderland have made a move for PSV striker Ola Toivonen, according to reports in Sweden. The striker is available for a fee of around £6.5m, and Aftonbladet newspaper claim that Martin O'Neill is keen to make the Swede his first signing at the Stadium of Light. PSV want to keep the 26-year-old, but with Roma and Juventus also registering an interest they are aware that they could cash in on the forward. And it just remains to be seen whether Sunderland follow up their initial interest with a firm offer that could convince the player to move to England. Nedum Onuoha could be heading back to Sunderland Football Club in January. The former England Under-21 international spent last season on loan at the Stadium of Light, and he was widely expected to make the move permanent in the summer. However, the Black Cats couldnât agree a deal for the defender, who has returned to Manchester City but has yet to kick a ball in the Premier League this season. New Sunderland boss Martin OâNeill is thought to be an admirer of Onuoha, and he hopes to be able to land the defender for a fee of around £3million in the New Year. But MoN has missed one...Landon Donovan is heading back to Everton....top player imo.
