I have been having a sneaky look at the forum of late and realised a few of the chappies on here would benefit from Tena for men more than I do.

Without sounding like them.......How the **** is it possible to be a professional footballer and air kick a ball that's on the ground like Gordon did ??????? It was pure Ameobiesque

Yep two styles 1 was way above the others... Newcastle is all huff and puff in comparison and it showed.

    Everyone saw it

Newcastle are primitive and it's effective in many situations, but class defeated them.

I think Gordon has dissappeared up his own arse.. The hair band and he's lost his raw edge.

I'm only asking a question here, because we're 1 win in 5 and 1 win in about 8 dating back to Chelsea last season, but given we've spent 260 million pounds this summer, is it possible we've done an Everton?

Last night was Barcelona, but what about the other games? Corners? Set pieces? Lack of goals, minus goal difference, and why do all our players look so miserable?

I was expecting better last night tbh, so I'm not being overly negative, but I don't think we look very good in any area of the game other than effort and that's only coming in big games.

Bournemouth away should tell us more than last night.

From Barcelona to Bournemouth. Another team Eddie can’t fathom out how to beat.

I just think the Premier league is highly competitive from 7th downwards. Newcastle are going to inevitably have bad times. I think we might be seeing the petals falling off the current sides impression flourish... Same with Villa.

    We'll come again.

"Embarrassing result" was my favourite from Munson last night. We lost 2-1 to Barcelona.....you can almost feel the embarrassment, losing to Stevenage in the FA cup was nowhere near bad as this.

We were playing ****ing Barcelona, and bossed them for most of the first half. The second Rashford goal was out of the blue and knocked us off our game, but we still managed to come back, albeit too late.

    These match threads are lunacy.

A lot of the posts from Chaos, Roly and GG, last night, did fall in to the embarrassing class TBF. They were the perfect examples of “entitled, delusional ‘Geordie’ fans” so often promoted by the media and fans of other Clubs.

I never even said that.. I said we got outclassed because we did. Barcelona were actually excellent and figured out how to cope with our huff and puff style. Even the way they ran the 7 mins down was a lesson.

There's no lunacy involved in saying that.. It's just your narrow focus on the scoreline and interpretation of my comment.

Meh, I get disappointed when we lose and will say it how I see it, not going to apologise for that nor agree it’s “embarrassing “.

Another thing from last night that was a real head scratcher was going to a back five when needing a goal.

Hall for Trippier at half time, and Woltemade for Barnes, was so utterly obvious, plus Thiaw looked like a proper player rather than great uncle Fab.

I think it’s ok to be disappointed to lose regardless of opposition. It’s ok to explore the reasons as we could’ve won this game. I think Howe even knew he’d made mistakes in this one. The troubling thing is they seem to be the same mistakes he was making two years ago.

Was an odd game last night. I know Waltemede is trying to get up to speed and we have Bournemouth on Sunday but with him not starting we just looked a bit toothless at the business end. Anthony Gordon is not and never will be a striker (That ****ing air kick will stay burned in the memory banks). I would have liked to have seen Gordon on the left, Elanga on the right and Waltemede up top together and a strong attacking first half with the subs being made early second half if need be.

Elanga hasn't set the world alight so far, Gordon looks a shaddow of his former self and has done for 12 months now.

On the plus side, Murphy has continued last seasons form. Pleased for the lad.

That being said, it comes to something when we're pissed off we've lost by a single goal to Barca, and tbf it's a hell of a goal.
