I am heading back to NZ later this month, has anyone seen Ed Sheeran in concert, he is in Christchurch in January, just wondering whether it is worth going? I'm not a big fan of his music, but is it worth seeing?

Lol tickets were a reasonable price £68 each and they better bloody play dignity. Just worked it out, it was 35 years ago I saw them at the old Wembley arena

Is it me has the gigs in Hull been disappointing this year?

In 2024 I saw Lightening Seeds, Shed Seven, Paul Weller, The Pretenders, Ocean Colour Scene, Cast Embrace, Lust For Life tribute and The Zutons.

In 2023 I saw Space, John Power, Noel Gallagher, Inspiral Carpets, Gaz Coombes, Pete Doherty and Shed Seven acoustic.

This year I've only been three gigs in Hull, Space, Ocean Colour Scene and The Cribs. I've nothing else planned as well.

Tried to get Ariana Grande tickets for my daughter on Tuesday. Absolute carnage, bigger demand than Oasis for significantly less tickets. Presale needed a UK phone number to get access, and there were 300,000 in the queue for freshly announced dates with just 5 minutes notice. Will try again in the general sale tomorrow but not holding out hope.

Doubly annoying that I actually got through twice and when adding tickets to my basket, AXS kicked me out and accused me of being a bot

Event tickets is an industry that seriously needs to be properly regulated, the current system enabling Chinese and Indian scalpers to make ridiculous amounts of profit from fans is as absolute farce.

Agree, the Connexin Live was supposed to be a game changer, it hasn't happened and I'm still seeing tour dates for Leeds, York, Lincoln and missing out Hull.

It’s operated by ASM and they get blown out the water by AMG when it comes to booking acts in this size venue.

AMG use their network of venues to offer better rates to the promoter, who will use multiple AMG venues across the country on the same tour at a discount rate.

ASM basically have Connexin Live and York Barbican, everything else they have is arena sized so find it hard to work effectively in this space.

Perhaps affected by the local infrastructure being chaotic with the trench they are digging on A63

My gripe with Connexin Live is the way it’s been built. Great to have big artists there but it’s such a poor layout. Shame the original plans were squashed by the council.

Could this finally be a turning point for ticket sales? Cant believe (and without wanting to turn this political) no prospective UK government has run with this as a policy. It would be such an easy vote winner to clamp down on ticket sales.

Different shape. Hence why it’s been built so tall that you get a nosebleed at the top.
